Zirt are a 1 man band from Norway that plays an instrumental from of atmospheric, melodic black metal with elements of dark ambient and this is a review of their self released 2012 album "For Those Who Feel".
Drum programming range from slow, mid paced to fast beats, while the synths bring in the dark ambient elements to the music, as for the bass playing it has a very dark tone with riffs that follow the riffing that are coming out of the guitars and at times they have a very powerful sound to them.
Rhythm guitars range from slow, mid paced to fast atmospheric black metal guitar riffs that utilize a great amount of dark sounding melodies, while the lead guitars are very dark sounding ambient black metal guitar solos and leads.
Vocals and songwriting are all absent from this recording with the music being all instrumental, while the song themes cover darkness and depression, as for the production it has a very dark, raw and primitive sound to it along with some of the songs being long and epic in length.
In my opinion Zirt are a very great sounding hybrid of instrumental, atmospheric black metal and dark ambient and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE 'The Sun Wont Shine" "The Grave Is Calling" "Nocturnal Darkness" and "Suicide Under The Moon". RECOMMENDED BUY.
