Sangus are a band from Rhode Island that has been featured before in this zine and plays a raw mixture of black metal, crust and thrash and this is a review of their 2014 ep "Saevita" which was released as a joint effort between Eternal Death and ForzaMorte.
Rain sounds start off the ep before adding in screams and a raw old school black metal sound that uses a great amount of blast beats and a mixture of thrash and crust influences and the solos and leads bring a lot of chaos into the bands musical style and the music also has the heaviness of war and bestial black metal.
There are slow moments on the recording while the faster material dominates the recording and at times you can also hear some deep growls in the background and the band also brings in the energy of punk rock at times along wit h some old school melodic guitar leads which go into a more chaotic direction as the ep progresses and on of the tracks brings in some spoken word samples before returning to a raw and brutal musical direction, on the last track you can hear some elements of harsh noise.
Sangus take the fastest, rawest and most brutal elements of black, war, thrash metal and crust to create their sound and this ep in my opinion is a lot more chaotic in sound than the one I reviewed a year back, the production has a very raw and heavy sound while the lyrics cover violent and hateful themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Sangus and if you are a fan of black, war, thrash metal and crust, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Saevita" and "Live To Kill". 8/5 out of 10.
