Towards The Hell are a band from Poland that plays an old school form of black metal and this is a review of their self released 2018 ep "Eternal Darkness" which will be released on July 20th.
A very dark and heavy sound starts off the ep along with some deep yet grim black metal screams a few seconds later while ritualistic tribal style beats can also be heard briefly on one of the tracks along with the music being very heavily rooted in the 90's second wave Scandinavian style.
When spoken word parts are utilized they give the music more of an occult and ritualistic feeling while a touch of doom metal can also be heard in some of the slower riffing along with the solos and leads being done in a very dark and melodic style when they are utilized, all of the music sticks to either a slow or mid tempo direction and they close the ep with a cover of Burzum's "Lost Wisdom".
Towards The Hell plays a style of black metal that is very slow or mid paced as well as being very heavily rooted in the 90's, the production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover darkness and occultism themes.
In my opinion Towards The Hell are a very great sounding old school black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Black Mass" and "Sorrow Of The Immortal Man". 8 out of 10.
