This is a review of a split album between Poland's Cadaveric Possession and and Sweden's Aggressive Mutilator called "Influx Of hatred" which will be released on March 21st by Mythrone Promotion and we will start off the review with Cadaveric Possession who plays a raw mixture of black and death metal.
Their side of the split starts out with a distorted amp sound before going into a heavier direction while the vocals are a mixture of grim black metal screams and death metal growls. Most of the music is also very heavily rooted in the 90's era and when the music speeds up blast beats can also be heard.
All of the musical instruments on their side of the recording have a very powerful sound to them while the tremolo picking also gives the songs more of a raw feeling. When guitar leads are utilized they are also done in a very chaotic style along with the songs also adding in a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts as well as the riffs also adding in a small amount of melody. The production sounds very raw and old school while the lyrics cover death, darkness, evil and blasphemy themes.
In my opinion Cadaveric Possession are a very great sounding raw and old school mixture of black and death metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "The Call of The Forked Tongue" and "The Sinister Beholder".
Next up is Aggressive Mutilator who return with their mixture of black, thrash metal and hardcore punk.
Their side of the split starts out with some classical guitars before going into more of a heavier and old school musical direction. When guitar solos and leads are utilized they are done in a very chaotic style while the vocals are mostyl grim sounding black emtal screams and the music also mixes in the raw energy of hardcore punk.
Most of the songs is also very heavily influenced by the 80's and 90's era while also mixing in elements of thrash metal. Tremolo picking and blast beats can be in the faster sections of the tracks and they also give the music more of a raw feeling along with the songs also adding in a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts,.
Spoken word parts and samples can also be heard briefly along with one track also introduces synths onto their side of the recording and clean playing can also be heard briefly on their closing track. The production sounds very raw and old school while the lyrics are written in Swedish and cover sickness, rituals, evil and lust themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Aggressive Mutilator and if you are a fan of black, thrash metal and hardcore punk, you should check out their side of the split. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Den svenska rebellen" and "Världens bottensats".
In conclusion I feel this is a very great sounding split and I would recommend it to all fans of raw and old school black, death, thrash metal and hardcore punk. 8 out of 10.
