Homicidio are a band from Brazil that plays a mixture an old school and occult mixture of black, doom and death metal and this is a review of their 2020 album "The Pact Of Fire" which was released by Wolfmond Production.
Horror movie style keyboards start off the album before going into a heavier musical direction which also introduces grim sounding black metal screams onto the recording. The songs also mix in a great amount of mid 90's to early 90's era influences and the riffs also add in some dark sounding melodies.
Elements of doom metal can also be heard in the slower sections of the songs while the music also shows some influences of death metal at times. When guitar solos and leads are utilized they are also done in a very dark, melodic yet old school style along with some tremolo picking and blast beats also being utilized when the music speeds up which also gives the songs more of a raw feeling.
Most of the music also sounds like it could of easily been recorded and released almost 30 years ago along with the songs also adding in a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts as well as one of the tracks also introducing clean playing, melodic vocals and demonic growls onto the album. The production sounds very raw and old school while the lyrics cover Satanism, Occultism, Mythology, Apocalyptic and Death themes.
In my opinion Homicidio are a very great sounding old school and occult mixture of black, doom and death metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "The Pact Of Fire" "Blind Witccraft" "Zeus" and "Mirrors Of Souls". 8 out of 10.
