Synths start off the album and also mixes in with the heavier sections of the music at times and also adds in more of an atmospheric approach. Spoken words can also be heard on a couple of tracks while the vocals are mostly high pitched black metal screams and when the music speeds up a great amount of blast beats can be heard.
When tremolo picking is added into the fast riffing they also give the music more of a raw feeling while the riffs also bring in a good amount of melody. Throughout the album you can also hear a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along with one song also adding in a brief use of clean playing, when guitar solos and leads are finally utilized they are also done in a very melodic style as well as one song also being an instrumental which also adds in a small amount of nature sounds.
Vampiric Oath plays a style of vampyric black metal that is very aggressive, atmospheric and traditional sounding. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover vampirism and exposes human hatred as instinct, a doctrine of decay driven by mankind's will toward self-destruction.
In my opinion Vampiric Oath are a very great sounding vampyric atmospheric black metal solo project and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Despoil of The Abyss" "Vampiric Oath" and "Of The Firmament And the Falling Of Man". 8 out of 10.
