Eisregen are a band from Germany that has been feautured before in this zine with a musical style that I would describe as being weird and atmospheric black/dark metal and this is a review of their 2012 compilation album "Krebskollection" which was released by Massacre Records.
Drums range from slow, mid paced to fast drumming with not much in the way of blast beats, while the keyboards bring a very atmospheric, psychedelic and progressive sound to the music with a couple of songs having an industrial feeling as well as some violins being utilized at times as well as some other instruments, as for the bass playing it has a very dark tone with riffs that follow the riffing that is coming out of the guitars and at times they have a very powerful sound to them.
Rhythm guitars range from slow, mid paced to fast black/dark metal riffs that a re not either too primitive or mainstream sounding with a good amount of melody being thrown into the riffing as well as a brief use of soft and clean playing, while the lead guitars which are only utilized briefly are very old school sounding heavy metal guitar solos and leads, as for the acoustic guitars when they are utilized they use finger picking and full chords to add more variety to the music.
Vocals range from grim sounding black metal screams to deep growls with a brief use of clean singing and spoken word parts, while the lyrics are written in German and cover death, gore, murder and necrophillia, as for the production it has a very strong, powerful, heavy and professional sound to it where you can hear all of the musical instruments that are present on this recording in addition the last song is a live recording.
In my opinion this is a very great sounding compilation from Eisegren and if you are a fan of this band, you should add this album to your collection. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Sharlachrotes Klied" "Abglanz Vorn Licht" "Mien Eichensarg" and "Born Dead". RECOMMENDED BUY.
