Serpent Seed are a band from Poland that has been featured before in this zine and plays a mixture of black and death metal and this is a review of their 2019 album "Death And Decay Considerations" which was released by Old Temple.
A very dark yet heavy sound starts off the album along with some grim black metal screams being introduced onto the recording. When the music speeds up a great amount of blast beats can also be heard while the vocals also utilize death metal growls into some part of the music.
All of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them while the riffs also add in a decent amount of dark sounding melodies. Throughout the recording you can also hear a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along with the solos and leads being done in a very dark and melodic style.
Some of the tracks are long and epic in length while the tremolo picking also gives the songs more of a raw feeling when they are utilized and as the album progresses the music also has its atmospheric moments, one track also brings in a brief use of clean vocals. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover anti religion, darkness and hateful themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding album from Serpent Seed and if you are a fan of black and death metal, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "The Pleasure Of Cruelty" "Primal Terror" and "The Ritual". 8 out of 10.
