Erancnoir are a solo project from Iran that plays an atmospheric form of black metal and this is a review of his self titled 2019 album which will be released on April 12th by Morrowless Music.
Nature sounds start off the album along with some ambient style synths a few seconds later which also mixes in with the heavier sections of the music at times. When the music speeds up a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats can also be heard which also gives the songs more of a raw feeling.
Both of the tracks are very long and epic in length while the vocals are mostly high pitched black metal screams. Throughout the recording you can also hear a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and spoken words can also be heard briefly, when guitar solos and leads are utilized they are done in a very melodic and atmospheric style.
Clean guitars can also be heard in some parts of the music along with some of the heavier riffing also getting very repetitive sounding at times while the synths give the songs more of an epic atmosphere. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover autumn, winter, landscapes and metaphor themes.
In my opinion Erancnoir are a very great sounding ambient atmospheric black metal solos project and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Mehr". 8 out of 10.
