Deletere are a band from Quebec, Canada that has had music reviewed before in this zine and plays a very raw and melodic form of black metal on this recording and this is a review of their 2019 ep "Theovorator : Babelis Testamentum" which will be released May 18th by Sepulchral Productions.
Epic sounding synths start off the album which also mixes in with the heavier sections of the music at times. During the faster sections of the songs a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats which also gives the music more of a raw feeling and the vocals are mostly grim black metal screams.
A decent amount of melody can also be heard in the guitar riffing while most of the songs are very long and epic in length. Throughout the recording you can also hear a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts as well as some melodic chants being used in some parts of the recording.
On this recording Deletere goes for more of a raw and melodic style of black metal. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover the tale of Babel, survivor of the Great Deluge who undertakes the construction of Babylon and the Tower of Babel with his minions.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Deletere and if you are a fan of raw and melodic black metal and if you are of this musical genre, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Babel Insanifusor". 8 out of 10.
