This is a review of a split e between U.S.A's Sutekh Hexen and Japan's Sleepwalker which was released by Sentient Ruin Laboratories and we will start off the review with Sutekh Hexen who return with their mixture of raw black metal, ambient and harsh noise.
Their side of the split starts out with some power electronics along with some voices in the background before adding some raw tremolo picking into the music as well as some grim sounding black metal screams and the track is long and epic in length along with the music also adding in some touches of dark ambient which are over powered by the guitars, the production sounds very dark, raw and lo-fi while the lyrics cover dark themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding track from Sutekx Hexen and if you are a fan of raw black metal, ambient and noise you should check out their side of the split.
Next up is Sleepwalker who return with their psychedelic and experimental style of black metal.
Their side of the split starts out with some oriental style instruments and psychedelic elements while spoken word parts can also be heard briefly before adding in more of an experimental style which also takes the music into a heavier direction and after awhile melodic guitar leads, blast beats and black metal screams are added into the music. The production sounds very dark, raw and lo-fi while the lyrics cover dark themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding track from Sleepwalker and if you are a fan of experimental and psychedelic black metal, you should check out their side of the split.
In conclusion I think this is a very great sounding split and I would recommend it to all fans of experimental, ambient, noise, psychedelic and raw black metal. 8 out of 10.
