Human Serpent have returned with a new recording which continues the raw and misanthropic style of black metal from previous releases with this release also being recorded to help the fundraising for animals being injured in the Australian wildfires and this is a review of their self released 2020 ep "Shrouds".
A very dark and heavy sound starts off the ep before going into a very fast and raw musical direction which also utilizes a great amount of blast beats and tremolo picking. Vocals are mostly deep yet angry black metal screams and the first track also bring in a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts as well as the second track being a keyboard instrumental that also adds in elements of classical music and both of the tracks are very short in length.
On this recording Human Serpent brings in 2 brief songs with one being done in their r aw and misanthropic style while also adding in a keyboard orientated instrumental as the second track. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover the torture the animals in the Australian wildfires have gone through.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Human Serpent and if you are a fan of raw and misanthropic black metal , you should check out this ep which is also on the bandcamp link and whatever you pay goes to donating profits to help the workers and animals hurt during the wildfires. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Nature's Shroud Against Humanity". 8 out of 10.
