Adopeta Tenebris are a solo project from France that plays an old school form of black metal with some touches of death metal and this is a review of his 2021 album "Oblivion: The Forthcoming Ends" which will be released in November by les Acteurs de L'Ombre Productions.
A very dark yet heavy sound starts off the album while the vocals are mostly grim sounding black metal screams. Melodies are also added into some of the guitar riffing along with the faster sections of the songs also adding in a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats which also gives the music more of a raw feeling.
The songs also mix in a great amount of 90's Scandinavian influences as well as keeping it modern at the same time. Throughout the recording you can also hear a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts while spoken words can also be heard on a couple of songs and some of the tracks are also very long and epic in length as well as some death metal growls also being added into some parts of the album and a later song also introduces clean playing into the music
Adopeta Tenebris plays a musical style that is heavily rooted in the 90's Scandinavian style as well as mixing in some modern influences and elements of death emtal to create a sound of his own. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover darkness and death themes.
In my opinion Adopeta Tenebris are a very great sounding old school black metal solo project with some touches of death metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "We Were Giants" "A Farewell To Hope" and "The Season of Gallows". 8 out of 10.
