Revelation's Hammer Interview

Interview with Accuser from Revelation's Hammer
by Occult Black Metal Zine

I
Can you give us an update on what is going on with the band these days?

Accuser;
Absolutely! About two months ago we signed a worldwide distribution and record deal with Italian Dark Metal label My Kingdom Music. In fact, it's been around two years since we finished the work of our first full-length, but the delay of our release is due to the fact that we have been on a continous search for a trust worthy label that shares our dedication to the music. But now we've finally signed a contract and our album is scheduled for released on June 3rd this year. We've just launched a new album trailer and opened for pre-orders which will be shipped on May 30th. Besides that, we'll see what happens next.

II
How would you describe the musical sound of the new album?
Accuser;
That depends of course on who you're asking.. Personally I would describe our sound as pretty powerful, kind of epic, old school and modern at the same time and definitely black metal. All of the songs are individual, but still I look at the album as a whole. Yet each of the tracks describes something different. I've called the music Apocalyptic Black Metal because of my inner lust to share my prophecy.

III
What are some of the lyrical topics and subjects the band explores with the music?

Accuser;
The lyrics are based on many themes. I guess important keywords would be ignorance by the human race, misanthropy and prophetic revelations. But you'll even find some world history and narcissism if you look deeper.

IV
What is the meaning and inspiration behind the bands name?

Accuser;
The answer to that remains untold. The inspiration comes from our lyrical themes as human ignorance and my vision of our dear world. Your delusions are often easier to handle than the truth!

V
Currently there are only 2 members in the band, are you planning on expanding the line up in the future or do you choose to remain a duo?

Accuser;
In fact, I am the only full member of Revelation's Hammer, but Myrvoll from Nidingr has been considered our session drummer since 2009. The difference is that I'll call him up if I need him for anything, but we're not playing together on a regular basis. At the moment, I'm looking for live members to fulfill our revelation in a live situation. Eventual applications can be sent to revelationshammer @ gmail .com and we'll see what the future brings.

VI
On the new album there are some quest appearances  by one of the members of Troll, how did you get in contact with this person and where you satisfied with his contributions?

Accuser;
I have known Exilis some years back now, and knew that he was a pretty good musician.. So it was kind of natural for me to ask him to contribute on the album. He took the challenge and performed the parts I had written just as I wanted. I'm specially satisfied with his contribution to the last track; "The Crown of Malice".

VII
On a worldwide level how has the feedback been to your music by fans of black metal?

Accuser;
The general support have in fact been quite impressive. We have gotten a lot of positive feedback and people have contacted us from all over the world just to give us their support. I specially remember this girl from Iran, stating at a early state of R.H. that she really wanted our album but wasn't sure if she were going to be able to get it due to the troubles she'll get connecting to the global economic cycle.. First and foremost, I write music for my own desire, but of course it's really fascinating when someone really likes the music you've been working on for several years back. And specially from someone in a really religious country like Iran. It's quite honorable to dare to be different from the rest of the sheeps in a country like that. Hail the martyrs of freedom!

VIII
What is going on with the drummer's other musical project these days?

Accuser;
Myrvoll and his band Nidingr recorded and released their third full-length on Indie Recordings November last year. Definitely one of my personal favourites from 2012. Both very dark and groovy at the same time. Otherwise he does some gigs now and then, both with Nidingr and some more random projects his involved in. I think his next gig will be a Nidingr gig at the Bunker Festival in Norway.

IX
What direction do you see your music heading into on future releases?

Accuser;
I really don't know yet. The only thing I know for sure is that music and art is about expressing your thoughts and ideas in a very personal manner. As you form along the road as a person, your creativity will do the same. I will not search for creativity in a rush just to progress on our next album. I'll wait until it feels naturally.

X
What are some bands or musical styles that have influenced your music and also what are you listening to nowadays?

Accuser;
I don't like to point out this or this concrete inspirational source when it comes to writing music. I rather try keeping my head straight and let the art form in a natural way. Of course, when you do it like this, it's possible that you generate some haters along the road, but I still think it's more important to stay true to yourself, than true to the people.

I listen to so much different bands at the same time, so my favourites is always a tough question. Nowadays, I would probably go for the Swedish "Shining". Otherwise I would say that I appreciate "Armagedda" or Finnish "Behexen". But who knows, I may hate all of these bands tomorrow.

XI
Does Satanism or Occultism play any role in your music?

Accuser;
I follow my own path. Whether it's a mixture of satanism, occultism, atheism or neither of them, I really don't care. My opinion is that it's way too many people that's too little consistent in life and care about the wrong things. I'm not very found of humans, and do believe it's too few people that appears really true to them self. Our world is full of hypocrites and I believe only Satan will be our saviour.

Satan stands out as our inner beast, our inner lust, our great will and our absolute power. Most people are afraid to get to know this side of them self, but I believe that's what differs the weak from the powerful. That's the key to a greater universe.

XII
Outside of music what are some of your interests?

Accuser;
I don't have any interests where I'm really dedicated besides the music. I'd like to keep it that way.

XIII
Any final words or thoughts before we wrap up this interview?

Accuser;
Thanks for the support! Our album will hit the stores June 3rd, but can already be pre-ordered at http://www.mykingdommusic.bigcartel.com and digitally on iTunes. Share our music through your local community.
