Ekove Efrits are a 1 man band from Iran that started out as being depressive black metal but evolved into a more experimental group with this recording and this is a review of their 2010 album "Hypermnesia" which was released by Hypnotic Dirge Records.
Drum programming are all slow beats, while the synths and sound effects bring a very avant garde, experimental, trip hop and experimental sound to the recording, as for the guitars they are all slow and depressive melodic black metal guitar riffs with elements of post rock.
Vocals are all spoken word parts when they are utilized as well as a brief use of clean singing, while the song themes cover dark, philosophical and poetic topics, as for the production it has a very dark, raw and primitive sound to it.
In my opinion Ekove Efrits are a very great sounding hybrid of experimental, trip hop and black metal and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "The Master Is Matter" "Oriental Prophecy" "Masquerade Of Memories" and "Age Of Disorders". RECOMMENDED BUY.
