France's K.L.L.K have returned with a new recording which shows the music going for more of an atmospheric and avant garde form of occult black metal and this is a review of their 2025 ep "La Voie: Atlantis Nostrum"
Dissonant style melodies start off the ep while spoken words can also be heard briefly before introducing high pitched black metal screams onto the recording. When synths are utilized they also bring in more of an avant garde touch while some of the tracks are also very long and epic in length.
When guitar solos and leads are utilized they are also done in a very dark yet melodic style while all of the musical instruments also have a very powerful sound to them. Blast beats are also added into the faster sections of the songs along with the music also having its atmospheric moments.
Throughout the recording you can also hear a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and one track also adds in a brief use of ritualistic soundscapes and one song also adds in a small amount of clear vocals.. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics are written in French and cover Ancient Civilizations, Mythology, Existentialism and Cosmogonies.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from K.L.L.K and if you are a fan of atmospheric and avant garde occult black metal, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Voie I - Exhumation" and "Voie III -Excarnation". 8 out of 10.
