Nomans Land are a band from Russia that plays a very epic form of pagan/viking metal and this is a review of their 2015 album "Last Crusade" which was released by Massacre Records.
A very heavy, melodic and epic sound starts off the album and a few seconds later grim black metal screams are added into the music along with some clean singing viking vocals and chants and the solos also bring in a lot of melody and also add in a touch of traditional metal and all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them.
Most of the songs stick to either a slow or mid paced musical direction and they manage to bring in a folk metal atmosphere while sticking to the standard heavy metal style of musical instruments and as the album progresses some of the tracks start bringing in back up pagan shouts and the whole album sticks to a heavy musical direction.
Nomans Land plays a musical style that is mostly rooted in the pagan and viking metal direction but also bring s in black metal vocals to make their music stand out, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover Morse Mythology, Heathenism, Vikings and Battles.
In my opinion Nomans Land are a very great sounding pagan/viking metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Sons Of The Nord" "Dragons" and "Warrior's Path". 8 out of 10.
