Vessel Of Iniquity are a solo project from the United Kingdom that plays a bestial form of blackened death metal with some elements of harsh noise, drone and power electronics and this is a review of their self titled 2017 ep which will be released on January 19th by Sentient Ruin Laboratories.
A very fast, raw and brutal sound starts off the ep along with a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats while the vocals also bring in a mixture of high pitched black metal screams and bestial growls along with some elements of harsh noise along with a lo-fi atmosphere.
Throughout the recording you can also hear a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts while the music also brings in drone and atmospheric elements at times along with the riffs also bringing in a small amount of guitar leads which are mostly mixed down low in the background, the last track is also long and epic in length and also adds in some ritualistic elements.
Vessel Of Iniquity plays a musical style that takes bestial black/death metal and mixes it with power electronics, harsh noise and drone to create something very original, the production sound s very dark and raw while the lyrics cover dark, existentialism, and occultism themes.
In my opinion Vessel Of Iniquity are a very great sounding mixture of bestial black/death metal, drone, harsh noise and power electronics and if you are looking for something original, you should check out this solo project. RECOMMENDED TRACK 'Where Even Nothing Is Something". 8 out of 10.
