A.R.:.O.:.A.A/WNDDETHPTHWYSTRDDN XXIX.X.MMXIX/Inverse Solar Reqvriem/2019 Demo Review

 

  This  is  a  review  of  another  recording  from  United  Kingdom's  solo  project  A.R.:.O.:.A.A  which  shows  the  music  going  for  more  of  an  atmospheric,  lo-fi,  raw  and  ritualistic  mixture  of  black  metal  and  dark  ambient  and  the  demo  was  released  in  2020  by  Inverse  Solar  Reqvriem  and  called  "WNDDETHPTHWYSTRDDN XXIX.X.MMXIX".

  Dark  ambient  style  synths  start  off  the  demo  along  with  some  ritualistic  soundscapes  which  also  mixes  in  with  the  heavier  sections  of  the  music  at  times.  The  only  track  that  is  present  on  the  recording  is  also  over  20  minutes  in  length  and  the  faster  sections  of  the  songs  also  add  in  a  great  amount  of  blast b eats.

 

 When  tremolo  picking  is  added  into  the  faster  riffing  they  also  give  the  music  more  of  a  raw  feeling  while  the  demo  also  has  its  atmospheric  moments.  At  times  the  music  also  gets  very  repetitive  sounding  along  with  a  small  amount  of  psychedelic  sounds  also  being  added  into  the  background,  slower ,  melodic  riffs  and  tortured  sounding  black  metal  vocals  can  also  be  heard  briefly.

  In  this  recording  A.R.:.O.:.A.A  takes  his  music  into  more  of  an  atmospheric,  ambient  and  lo-fi  direction  of  black  metal  as  well  as  keeping  the  ritualistic  elements  of  his  previous  release.  The  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the  lyrics  cover  death  and  ritual  themes.

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  A.R.:.O.:.A.A  and  if  you  are  a f an  of  ambient,  atmospheric,  lo-fi,  raw  and  ritualistic  occult  black  emtal,  you  should  check  out  this  demo.  8  out  of  10.
