Lvctvs are a solo project from Venezuela that plays a depressive form of black metal and this is a review of his self released 2023 album "La Réproba Mazmorra de mi Ser".
Clean playing starts off the album before going into a heavier direction while all of the tracks are also very long and epic in length. Vocals are mostly high pitched depressive black metal screams along with the riffs also adding in a decent amount of melody and keyboards can also be heard in certain sections of the recording.
When guitar solos and leads are utilized they are also done in a very melodic style while spoken word parts can also be heard on a couple of tracks. When tremolo picking is utilized they also give the music more of a raw feeling along with one song also introducing clean playing onto the album and when the music speeds up on the closing track a small amount of blast beats van also be heard
Lvctvs plays a style of black metal that is very slow and depressive sounding. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics are written in Spanish and cover depression, Suicide, suffering, death and existentialism themes.
In my opinion Lvctvs are a very great sounding depressive black metal solo project and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "La Existencia, Arbitraria Expiación" and "Vasallo de mi Soledad". 8 out of 10.
