Ceremonial Bloodbath are a band from Vancouver B.C, Canada that has had music reviewed before in this zine and plays a bestial mixture of war, black and death metal and this is a review of their 2023 album "Genesis Of Malignant Entropy" which will be released in November by Sentient Ruin Laboratories.
A very dark sounding intro starts off the album before going into a very fast, raw and brutal war emtal direction which also utilizes a great amount of tremolo picking and blast b eats. Vocals are a mixture of black metal screams and bestial growls while the riffs also add in a small amount of dark sounding melodies.
Throughout the recording you can also hear a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts while the songs also add in a lot of old school influences. When guitar solos and leads are utilized they are also done in a very chaotic style as well as having their melodic moments along with all of the musical instruments on the recording also having a very powerful sound to them and synths are added on the closign track
On this recording Ceremonial Bloodbath remains true to the bestial mixture of war, black and death metal that they have established on previous releases. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover the authentic horror of creation.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Ceremonial Bloodbath and if you are a fan of war and bestial black/death metal, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Exhumation Of The Ominous" "Caustic Invocation" and "Mutilation Of Sacrifice". 8 out of 10.
