Womb are a duo from Portugal that plays a very raw form of occult black metal and this is a review of their 2018 ep "Tacitum" which will be released in June by Purodium Records.
Distorted amp sounds start off the ep before going into a very fast and raw musical direction which also uses a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats while the vocals are all high pitched black metal screams along with all of the musical instruments having a very powerful sound to them.
Most of the tracks are very short in length while the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along with a great amount of 90's influences along with the riffing being all done with power chords and the music always avoids melodies and guitar leads as well as always remaining very raw and heavy.
Womb plays a style of black metal that is very raw and heavy as well as bringing an underground approach to the genre which is rarely heard these days, the production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover Alchemy, Occultism and Sex Magick themes.
In my opinion Womb are a very great sounding raw occult black metal duo and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "He Is The Preacher Of The Gods" "Ritual Union Through Sex Magick" and "Ekenosen". 8/5 out of 10.
