Hetroertzen are a band originally from Chile but now resides in Sweden and plays an occult form of black metal and this is a review of their 2022 album "Phosphorus Vol 1" which will be released in September by Listenable Records.
A very dark and ritualistic sounding intro starts off the album before going into a very fast and raw musical direction which also utilizes a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats. Vocals are mostly grim black metal screams while dark sounding melodies are also added into some of the guitar riffing.
Throughout the recording you can also hear a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts while all of the musical instruments on the album also have a very powerful sound to them. When guitar solos and leads are utilized they are also done in a very dark yet melodic style along with the ritualistic sounds of the intro also retuning on some of the later songs, synths can also be heard briefly and some of the tracks are also long and epic in length.
Hetroertzen plays a style of occult black metal that is very modern and aggressive sounding as well as remaining true to the traditions of the genre. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover Satanism, Luciferian, The Keys of Solomon, Occultism, Illumination and Gnosticism themes.
In my opinion Hetroertzen are a very great sounding occult black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Sea In Black" "Vultus Satani" "I Am Sickness I Am Death" and "The Conjuring Of The Seven Spirits". 8 out of 10.
