Morally Deformed are a solo project from the United Kingdom that plays a totalitarian form of black metal and this is a review of his self released 2022 demo "XX".
Audience sounds start off the ep before going into more of a heavier and lo-fi musical direction while the vocals are mostly grim sounding black metal screams. Melodies are also added into some of the guitar riffing while all of the drum beats are also programmed and when the music speeds up a decent amount of blast beats can be heard.
When tremolo picking is utilized they also give the songs more of a raw feeling while the songs also add in a good mixture of slow and mid tempo parts. Spoken word samples can also be heard on a couple of tracks along with all of the musical instruments on the recording also having a very powerful sound to them, synths can also be heard on the closing track which is also an instrumental and elements of doom metal can also b e heard in the slower sections of the demo.
Morally Deformed plays a style of black metal that is very militant and totalitarian sounding. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover war, totalitarian and philosophical themes.
In my opinion Morally Deformed are a very great sounding totalitarian black metal solo project and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this demo. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "XX" and "101". 8 out of 10.
