Bekor Qilish are a band from Italy that plays an avant garde mixture of black, death and thrash metal and this is a review of their 2023 album "The Flesh Of A New God" which will b e released in September by I, Voidhanger Records.
A very fast and technical sound starts off the album along with a great amount of blast beats while the vocals are mostly high pitched black metal screams. Melodies are also added into some of the guitar riffing while some of the tracks are also long and epic in length and death metal growls can also be heard at times.
The music also has its progressive moments while you can also hear all of the musical instruments that are present on the recording. When guitar solos and leads are utilized they are also done in more of a technical style along with the songs also adding in a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts
Synths can also be heard on a few tracks along with the tremolo picking in the fast riffing also giving the music more of a raw feeling when they are utilized. Elements of thrash metal are also utilized in some of the guitar riffing as well as the music also adding in more of an avant garde style at times, clean playing can also be heard briefly and saxophones are also added towards the end. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover horror and scientific themes.
In my opinion Bekor Qilish are a very great sounding avant garde, technical and progressive mixture of black, death and thrash metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Defaced Background" "Unaware Gods" and "Infinite Self-Reflecting Circles". 8 ut of 10.
