Verderbnis are a band from Germany that plays a very melodic form of black metal and this is a review of their 2023 album "Paria" which will be released in September by MDD Records.
A very dark yet heavy sound starts off the album before going into a very fast and raw musical direction which also utilizes a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats. Synths can also be heard on a few tracks while the riffs also add in a lot of melody and the vocals are mostly grim sounding black metal screams.
A lot of the music also shows a lot of influences from the Swedish style of the genre while the album also add in a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts. Clear singing and growls can also be heard in certain sections of the recording and some of the tracks also add in a small amount of clean playing.
A couple of tracks also adds in a small amount of spoken word parts and when guitar solos and leads are added onto the recording they are also done in a very melodic style as well as a few songs also being long and epic in length. Acoustic guitars also being added into certain sections of the album and whispered vocals can also be heard briefly.. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics are written in a mixture of English and German and cover darkness, nature and Satanism themes.
In my opinion Verderbnis are a very great sounding melodic black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "I Am The Wolf" "Paria" "Dusk maiden" and "Satanizer Terrorizer". 8 out of 10.
