Sacred Noose are a band from Ireland that plays a dissonant mixture of war, black, death and doom metal and this is a review of their 2023 ep "Renounce The Flesh" which will be released in October by Fiadh Productions.
A very fast, raw and brutal war metal sound starts off the album along with a great album of tremolo picking and blast beats. Vocals are mostly high pitched black metal s creams while death metal growls are also utilized at times and all of the musical instruments also have a very powerful sound to them.
Elements of doom metal can also be heard in t he slower sections of the music while the songs also add in a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts. At times the recording also gets very dissonant sounding along with some of the riffing also adding in a small amount of dark sounding melodies and most of the tracks are also very long and epic in length.
Sacred Noose plays a musical style that takes war, dissonant black, death and doom metal and mixes them together to create a sound of their own. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover the concept of death as a sacramental release from life.
In my opinion Sacred Noose are a very great sounding dissonant mixture of wart, black, doom and death metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Devolved". 8 out of 10.
