Sanctum Sathanas are a duo from Chile that plays a very raw, occult and satanic form of black metal and this is a review of their 2023 album "Into The Eternal Satanic Damnation" which will be released in November by Inferna Profundis Records.
Evil sounding synths start off the album and also brings in the atmosphere of a classic horror movie soundtrack before going into a heavier direction. When the music speeds up a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats can be heard which also gives the songs more of a raw feeling.
Vocals are mostly high pitched black metal screams while all of the musical instruments on the recording also have a very powerful sound to them. The songs also add in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and the solos and leads are also done in a very dark yet melodic style.
One of the tracks is also very long and epic in length along with the riffs also adding in a decent amount of dark sounding melodies as well as some of the music also showing an influence of the mid 90's era, synths also make a brief return. the production sounds very dark and r aw while the lyrics cover Satanism, Luciferian, Alchemy and Left Hand Path themes.
In my opinion Sanctum Sathanas are a very great sounding raw, satanic and occult black metal solo project and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Lord Almighty Sathanas" and "The Curse Of Existence". 8 out of 10.
