Creptum are a band from Brazil that plays a very raw and satanic form of black metal and this is a review of their 2014 ep "The Age of Darkness" which is also a re-recorded version of a 2004 ep with the same name.
A very fast, heavy, raw and brutal old school black metal sound starts off the ep along with some blast beats and after a minute grim screams are added into the music and after awhile the music starts bringing in a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along with some solos and leads which are only used for a few seconds on a few songs that bring a very dark and melodic atmosphere to the bands musical style.
Most of the bands musical style is heavily rooted in the true 90's black metal tradition and the band also adds in a bit of melody with their raw black metal sound at times and they bring in a great amount of speed and aggression with the later tracks as well as nothing having a soft moment and they make each track sound very evil and blasphemous.
Creptum plays a very true style of black metal with their music bringing in a great amount of aggression in the true old school and blasphemous tradition as well as demonstrating how black metal is meant to be played, the production has a very raw and old school sound while the lyrics cover Satanism and Anti Christian themes.
In my opinion Creptum are a very great sounding old school satanic black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "The Fall Of The Nazarene Whore" and "Disciple Of Evil". 8/5 out of 10.
