L' Homme Absurde are a band from Russia that has been featured before in this zine and plays post black metal and this is a review of their 2018 album "Sleepless" which will be released on March 26th by Soundage Productions.
Heavy riffs start off the album along with the music also speeding up and also adding in a decent amount of melody while the vocals are mostly angry yet high pitched black metal screams as well as the riffs also bringing in a great amount of melody and all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them.
When the music speeds up a decent amount of tremolo picking can be heard which also gives the songs a more raw feeling while the clean guitars when they are utilized bring in elements of post rock along with the solos and leads being done in a very melodic fashion as well as the tracks also bringing in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts, a couple of the tracks are very long and epic in length and touches of metalcore and hardcore are also added into some of the mid tempo sections of the music and as the album progresses a brief use of acoustic guitars can also be heard.
L' Homme Absurde creates another recording that remains true to their style of post black metal while also adding in more hardcore and metalcore elements this time around, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover alienation and the search for our own identity.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from L' Homme Absurde and if you are a fan of post black metal, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Cleansing The Temple" "Moments In Coma" and "Carriers". 8 out of 10.
