Litha are a solo project from Oregon that plays a very depressive form of cascadian black metal and this is a review of his self released 2023 album which will be released on November 17th by Tartarus Records.
Melodic guitar solos and leads start off the album while the vocals are mostly high pitched depressive black metal screams. Most of the tracks are also very long and epic in length along with the faster sections of the songs also adding in a decent amount of blast beats and the riffs also add in a decent amount of melody.
When tremolo picking is added into the faster riffing they also give the music more of raw feeling while the songs also add in a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts. All of the musical instruments on the recording also have a very powerful sound to them along with some of the slower riffing also showing an influence of doom metal, clean playing can also be heard on a few tracks.
Litha plays a style of cascadian black metal t hat is very depressive sounding as well as adding in elements of doom metal to create a sound of his own. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover anxiety, depression and melancholy themes.
In my opinion Litha are a very great soundign depressive cascadian black metal solo project and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this solo project. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Wearing Away" and "Thirst". 8 out of 10.
