Nordligblast are a band from Russia that plays a very cold form of black metal and this is a review of their 2018 album "True Paradise" which was released by Death Prayer Records.
Winter sounds start off the album before going into a heavier direction while all of the musical instruments on the recording have a very powerful sound to them. Vocals are mostly grim yet high pitched sounding black metal screams along with the riffs also adding in a great amount of melody and blast beats are added into the faster sections of the songs.
When tremolo picking is added into the faster riffing they also give the music more of a raw feeling. The songs also add in a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along with some growls also being utilized at times as well as some battle samples also being utilized briefly.
A lot of the music is also very heavily rooted in the 90's era along with the solos and leads also being done in a very melodic style when they are utilized as well as a couple of the tracks also being very long and epic in length, nature sounds also return in certain sections of the recording and radio samples are also added on the closing song. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics are written in Russian and cover nature and cosmos themes.
In my opinion Nordligblast are a very great sounding cold black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Nordigblast" and "True paradise". 8 out of 10.
