Æternum Infinitus where a duo from Sweden that played an atmospheric, ambient and cosmic form of black metal and this is a review of their 2018 ep ".-. . .--. . .-.. .-.. .- -. -" which was released by Death Prayer Records.
Ambient style synths and drones start off the ep and also mixes in with the heavier sections of the songs at times while whispers and spoken word parts can also be heard briefly. All of the tracks are also very long and epic in length along with the music also getting very atmospheric sounding at times.
Elements of funeral doom metal can also b e heard in the slower sections of the songs at times while the vocals also mix in a great amount of cavernous death metal growls. When the music speeds up a great amount of blast b eats can also be heard and clean playing can also be heard in certain sections of the recording.
Grim black metal screams can also be heard at times along with one of the tracks also being an instrumental, all of the tracks also sound very different from each other and all of the music sticks to either a slow or mid tempo direction as well as all of the musical instruments also having a very powerful sound to them. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover scientific themes.
In my opinion Æternum Infinitus are a very great sounding atmospheric, ambient and cosmic black metal duo and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Supernova". 8 out of 10.
