Fonsadera are a band from Mexico that plays a very raw form of black metal that plays a very raw and subversive form of black metal and this is a review of their 2022 album "Macabre Dump" which will be released in July by Inferna Profundus Records.
Clean playing starts off the album along with some tortured voices a few seconds later before going into a heavier musical direction. You can also hear all of the instruments that are present on the album while the vocals are mostly high pitched black metal screams and when the music speeds up a decent amount of blast beats can be heard.
When tremolo picking is utilized they also give the songs more of a raw feeling while the songs also add in a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts. Gregorian chants can also be heard briefly along with one song also adding in some tortured sounding spoken word parts as well as the music also capturing a very ritualistic atmosphere at times, all of the musical instruments on the recording also have a very powerful sound to them and at times the music also gets very lo-fi sounding..
Fonsadera plays a style of black metal that is very raw, lo-fi and different yet original sounding. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover darkness, the shedding of blood and anti catholic themes.
In my opinion Fonsadera are a very great sounding raw black metal b and and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Versiculum - I' and "Versiculum - IV". 8 out of 10.
