Archbeheth Interview

1.For those that have never heard of you before, can you tell us a little bit about the band?

1. There's not much to say about our band other than the fact that we are just some people experimenting with different sounds and trying to have fun together making music.

2.In the last couple of years you have released a demo, ep and 2 full lengths, musically how do they all differ from each other?

2. Well, we had different mindsets during each and every recording. In our demo we just experimented on a lot of different things, we were new to this. On our first full-length we experimented with raw sounds, on our EP, we wanted to have a more depressive sound, and on our second full-length we have tried to combine all of our different sounds and styles into one album.

3.What are some of the lyrical topics and subjects the band has explored so far with the music?

3. Our band has expressed some topics revolving around things that happened in our personal life like depression, anger, substance abuse, and suicidal tendencies.

4.What is the meaning and inspiration behind the name  'Archbeheth'?

4. When we tried finding a name, we went back and forth with different options that we didn’t like, and ended up using random words and combining them into the name that you all know now.

5.Can you tell us a little bit more about the artwork that is presented on the new album cover?

5. The name and cover of our newest album “Corruption” symbolizes a state of darkness inside one’s self, as the songs represent the same thing, focusing around a mysterious, dark and corrupted energy.

6.Has the band done any live shows or open to the idea?

6. No, we did not have any shows, and we currently are not really interested in doing that, and we also do not have the required equipment to do so.

7.Currently you are unsigned, are you looking for a label or have received any interest?

7. Yes, we are currently looking for a label but as of now, none of them sparked that much interest in us.

8.On a worldwide level how has the reaction been to your music by fans of black metal?

8. Although we did not have much worldwide recognition, the one that we did have was mostly positive, and locally not so much. At the end of the day we had positive and negative feedback from multiple people, and we don’t mind any of it.

9.Are any of the band members currently involved with any other bands or musical projects these days?

9. Count Zyraxes has multiple side projects like “Guardian Angel” and “Ozonzagith”. Rakanoth used to work on this side project called “Mucegai” and also makes rap instrumentals, but he does not seem to have that much interest in “Mucegai” anymore.

10.Where do you see the band heading into musically during the future?

10. We have no idea but we hope for the best.

11.What are some of the bands or musical styles that have had an influence on your music and also what are you listening to nowadays?

11. We took inspiration from multiple Depressive Black Metal bands like “Lifelover”, “Apati”, “My Useless Life” and so on. When it comes to what we listen to, we listen to a plethora of genres like rap, rock, any kind of metal, and a lot more.

12.Before we wrap up this interview, do you have any final words or thoughts?

12. I would like to thank you for supporting us and supporting multiple other bands.

Archbeheth/Corruption/2024 Full Length Review

Archbeheth  are  a  band  from  Romania  that  plays  aa  depressive  form  of  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  self  released  2024  album  "Corruption".

Clean  playing  which  also  returns  on  later  starts  off  the  album  before  going  into  a  heavier  direction  while  spoken  word  parts  can  also  be  heard  on  a  few  tracks.  Vocals  are  mostly  high  pitched  depressive  black  metal  screams  along  with  the  riffs  also  adding  in  a  small  amount  of  melody  at  times.

A  couple  of  the  tracks are  also  instrumentals  while  the  solos  and  leads  are  also  done  in  a  very  dark  yet  melodic  style  when  they  are  utilized.   Ambient  style  synths  are  also  introduced  on  a  couple  of  songs  along  with  one  track  also  being  over  15  minutes  in  length,  clear  vocals  can  also  be  heard  briefly  and  the  whole  album  also  sticks  to  a  slower  direction.

Archedeleth  plays  a  style  of  black  metal  that  is  very  slow  and  depressive  sounding  as  well  as  mixing  in  elements  of  dark  ambient  to  create  a  sound  of  their  own.  The  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the  lyrics  cover  hatred  and  depression  themes.

In  my  opinion  Archbeheth  are  a  very  great  sounding  depressive  black  metal  band  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Mary's  Letter"  "Dolor (5  Stages  Of  Grief)"  "I  Use  Alcohol  To  Sleep"  and  "Warfare".  8  out  of  10.
