HellGoat/Culto Mortuo II/Iron, Blood And Death Corporation/2023 Compilation Album Review

 

  Sweden's  solo  project  HellGoat  has  returned  with  a  new  recording  which  consists  of  his  raw  style  of  satanic  black  metal  that  was  released  on  split  albums  and  this  is  a  review  of  his  2023  compilation  album  "Culto  Mortuo  II"  which  was  released  by  Iron,  Blood  And  Death  Corporation.

  Ritualistic  spoken  word  parts  start  off  the  compilation  before  going  into  a  heavier  direction  while  melodies  can  also  be  heard  in  some  of  the  guitar  riffing.  Vocals  are  mostly  high  pitched  black  metal  screams  along  with  the  faster  sections  of  the  songs  also  adding  in a   great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats  which  also  gives  the  music  more  of  a  raw  feeling. 

  The  songs  also  add  in a  lot  of  old  school  influences  while  the  songs  also  add  in a   good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts.  When  guitar  solos  and  leads  are  utilized  they  are  also  done  in  a  very  raw  yet  melodic  style  along  with  all  of  the  musical  instruments  also  having  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them,  keyboards  can  also  be  heard  briefly,

  On  this  compilation  HellGoat  brings  in  a  very  raw,  violent  and  satanic  style  of  black  metal.  The  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the  lyrics  are  written  in a  mixture  of  English  and  Swedish  and  cover  Satanism,  Devil  Worship,  Evilness,  Hatred  and  Murder  themes.   

  In  my  opinion  this  is  a  very  great  sounding  collection  from  HellGoat  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  raw  and  satanic  black  metal,  you  should  check  out  this  compilation.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Glory  To  The  Evil  One"  "Decimated  By  The  Fist  Of  Satan"  "Devourer  of  Both  Sun  And  Moon"  and  "Upon  Thy  Altar  of  Death".  8  out  of  10.

HellGoat/A Sign of Evil To Come/Full Length Review

 

  HellGoat  are  a  solo  project  form  Sweden  that  has  had  music  reviewed  before  in  this  zine  and  plays  a  very  raw  and  satanic  form  of  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  his  self  released  2022  album  "A  Sign  of  Evil  To  Come".

  Fire  burning  and  bells  start  off  the  album  before  going  into a  very  fast  and  raw  musical  direction  which  also  utilizes  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast b eats.  Melodies  are  also  added  into  some  of  the  guitar  riffing  while  the  vocals  are  mostly  high  pitched  black  metal  screams  and  old  school  influences  are  also  utilized  at  times. 

  Throughout  the  recording  you  can  also h ear  a  decent  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  while  the  solos  and  leads  are  also  done  in  a  very  dark  yet  melodic  style.  All  of  the  musical  instruments  on  the  recording  also  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them  along  with  one  track  also  introducing  clean  playing  onto  the  album.

  On  this  recording  HellGoat  takes  his  raw  style  of  black  metal  into  more  of  a  melodic  direction  without  losing  any  aggression.  The  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the  lyrics  cover  Satanism,  Devil  Worship,  Darkness,  Hatred  and  Murder  themes.

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  album f rom  HellGoat  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  raw  and  satanic  black  metal,  you  should  check  out  this  recording.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Face  The  Devils  Might"  "Burning  Horns  Of  Satanic  Terror"  and  "A  Sign  of  Evil  To  Come".  8 out  of  10.

HellGoat/Den Hornbkladdes Aterkomst/Corrupted Flesh Records/Goatlordth Records/2021 EP Review

 

  HellGoat  are  a  solo  project  from  Sweden  that  recently  has  had  music  reviewed  in  this  zine  and  on  this  recording  plays  a  very  raw  and  satanic  form  of  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  his  2021  ep  "Den  Hornbkladdes  Aterkomst"  which  was  released  as  a  joint  effort  between  Corrupted  Flesh  and  Goatlordth  Records.

  A  very  dark  and  heavy  sound  starts  off  the  ep  while  the  faster  sections  of  the  songs  also  add  in  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats  which  also  gives  the  music  more  of  a  raw  feeling.  Vocals  are  mostyl  grim  yet  high  pitched  black  metal  screams  along  with  the  tracks  also  adding  in  a  lot  of  90's  influences.

  Ritualistic  sounding  bells  can  also  be  heard  briefly  while  the  songs  also  add  in  a  decent mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts.  There  is  also  a  brief  use  of  clean  playing  on  one  of  the  tracks  along  with  the  riffing  also  avoiding  the  use  of  any  melody  except  for  the  last  song  and  focusing  more  on  a  power  chord  driven  style,  demonic  voices  can  also  be  heard  on  the  closing  track  as  well  as  a  brief  use  of  melodic  guitar  leads.

  On  this  recording  HellGoat  plays  a  style  of  satanic  black  metal  that  is  very  raw  and  traditional  sounding.  The  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the  lyrics  are  written  in  Swedish  and  cover  Satanism,  Devil  Worship,  Hate  and  Murder  themes. 

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  HellGoat  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  raw  and  satanic  black  metal,  you  should  check  out  this  ep.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Tolv  Pilar  I  Lejonets  Hjarta"  and  "Evigt  Morker".  8  out  of  10.

Oppressive Descent/HellGoat/Death Knell Of A Dying World/Corrupted Flesh Records/2021 Split Album Review

 

  This  is  a  review  of  a  split  album  between  U.SA's  Oppressive  Descent  and  Sweden's  HellGoat  called  "Death  Knell  Of  A  Dying  World"  which  will  be  released  in  April,  2021  by  Corrupted  Flesh  Records  and  we  will  start  off  the  review  with  Oppressive  Descent  a  solo  project  that  plays  a  very  raw  form  of  occult  black  metal.

  His  side  of  the  split  starts  out  with  a  very  dark  and  heavy  sound  while  the  faster  sections  of  the  songs  also  add  in  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats  which  also  gives  the  music  more  of  a  raw  feeling.  Vocals  are  mostly  high  pitched  black  metal  screams  and  all  of  his  tracks  are  also  very  long  and  epic  in  length.

  Most  of  the  music  is  also  very  heavily  rooted  in  the  old  school  tradition  along  with  some  dark  sounding  melodies  also  being  added  into  some  of  the  guitar  riffing,  Synths  can  also  be  heard  briefly  as  well  as  the  songs  also  adding  in  a  decent  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts,  depressive  elements  can  also  be  heard  at  times  and  all  of  the  musical  instruments  also  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them.  When  guitar  solos  and  leads  are  utilized  they  are  also  done  in  a  very  melodic  style.   The  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the  lyrics  cover  occultism,  suicide,  depression,  loss  and  death  themes.

  In  my  opinion  Oppressive  Descent  are  a  very  great  sounding  raw  occult  black  metal  solo  project  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  his  side  of  the  split.  RECOMMENDED  TRACK  "Crumbling  Remnants  Of  The  Mausoleum  Walls".

  Next  up  is  HellGoat  a  solo  project  that  plays  a  very  raw  and  satanic  form  of  black  metal.

  His  side  of  the  split  starts  out  with  some  violent  movie  samples  before  going  into  a  heavier  musical  direction.  When  guitar  leads  are  utilized  they  are  also  done  in  a  very  dark  yet  melodic  style  while  the  faster  sections  of  the  songs  also  bring  in  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats  which  also  gives  the  music  more  of  a  raw  feeling.

  Vocals  are  mostly  high  pitched  black  metal  screams  along  with  some  melodies  also  being  added  into  some  of  the  guitar  riffing.  The  songs  also  add  in  a  decent  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  as  well  as  all  of  the  music  always  sticking  to  a  heavier  direction,  deep  demonic  vocals  can  also  be  heard  briefly.  The  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the  lyrics  are  written  in  Swedish  and  cover  Satanism,  Devil  Worship,  Hate  and  Murder  themes.

  In  my  opinion  HellGoat  are  a  very  great  sounding  raw  satanic  black  metal  solo  project  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  his  side  of  the  split.  RECOMMENDED  TRACK  "Hora  II".

  In  conclusion  I  feel  this  is  a  very  great  sounding  split  and  I  would  recommend  it  to  all  fans  of  raw,  satanic  and  occult  black  metal.  8  out  of  10.
