Mittags-Abgrund  are  a  solo  project  from  Russia  that  plays  a  very  epic  and  old  school  mixture  of  black  and  death  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  his  self  titled  2026  album  which  will  be  released  in  September  by  Darkness  Shall  Rise.

  Acoustic  guitars  start  off  the  album  before  going  into  a  heavier  direction  while  the  riffs  also  add  in  a  decent  amount  of  melody.  Most  of  the  tracks  are  also  very  long  and  epic  in  length  along  with  all  of  the  musical  instruments  also  having  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them  and  the  vocals  are  mostly grim  black  metal  screams.

  Elements  of  death  metal  are  also  utilized  quite  a  bit  throughout  the  recording  while  clear  singing  can  also  be  heard  at  times.  Most  of  the  music  is  also  very  heavily  rooted  in  the  90's  era  along  with  the  faster  sections  of  the  album  also  adding  in  a  decent  amount  of  blast  beats  and  tremolo  picking  which  also  gives  the  songs  more  of  a  raw  feeling. When  guitar  solos  and  leads  are  utilized  they  are  also  done  in  a  very  melodic  style  and  a  couple  of  tracks  also  adds  in  a  small  amount  of  clean  playing.

  Mittags-Abgrund  plays  a  musical  style  that  goes  back  to  the  90's  era  of  black  and  death  metal  and  mixes  them  together  to  create  a  sound  of  his  own.  The  production  sounds  very  raw  and  old  school  while  the  lyrics  are  written  in  Russian  and  cover  darkness  themes.

  Massteron  are  a  band  from  Poland  that  plays  a  mixture  of  black  and  death  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2026  album  "Second In  the  Spheres"  which  will  be  released  in  September  by  ATMF.

  A  very  fast,  raw  and  brutal  sound  starts  off  the  album  along  with  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats.  Vocals  are  mostly  high  pitched  black  metal  screams  while  the  music  also  adds  in  a  lot  of  death  metal  elements  and  all  of  the  musical  instruments  also  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them.

  Melodies  are  also  added  into  some  of  the  guitar  riffing  while  the  music  is  also  very  heavily  rooted  in t he  90's  era  of  the  genre.  Throughout  the  album  you  can  also  hear  a  good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  along  with  the  solos  and  leads  also  being  done  in  a  very  melodic  yet  chaotic  style,  synths  can  also  be  heard  briefly  and  the  closing  tack  is  also  very  long  and  epic  in  length.

  Massteron  goes  back  to  the  90's  era  of  polish  black  and  death  metal  and  mixes  them  together  to  create  a  sound  of  their  own.  The  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics  cover  darkness  and  chaos  themes.

  Mindvile  are  an  international  band  with  members  from  Spain  and  the  United  States  that  plays  a  mixture  of  black  and  death  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2026  album  "Old  Continent"  which  will  be  released  in  September  as  a  joint  effort  between  Satanath  and  paragon  Records.

  A  very  apocalyptic  sound  starts  off  the  album  before  going  into  a  very  fast  and  raw  musical  direction  which  also  utilizes  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats.  Melodies  are  also  added  into  a  lot  of  the  guitar  riffing  while  the  vocals  also  add  in  a  great  amount  of  high  pitched  black  metal  screams. 

  Throughout  the  album  you  can  also  hear  a  good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  while  the  solos  and  leads  are  done  in  a  very  melodic  style.  Elements  of  death  metal  are  also  utilized  quite  a  bit  throughout  the  recording  along  with  a  couple  of  tracks  also  adding  in  a  small  amount  of  synths  and  the  music  also  adds  in  a  lot  of  Swedish  influences,  clean  playing  can  also  be  heard  on  a  few  songs.

  A  very  heavy  yet  melodic  sound  starts  off  the  album  along  with  the  vocals  also  adding  in  a  mixture  of  black  metal  screams  and  death  metal  growls.  The  slower  sections  of  the  songs  also  add  in  elements  of  90's  era  atmospheric  doom  metal  while  the  solos  and  leads  are  also  add  in a   great  amount  of  melody.

  On  this  recording  HKSPK  continue  to  expand  on  the  mixture  of  black  and  death  metal  that  they  introduced  on  their  previous  release.  The  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics  cover  memory,  comradeship,  loss  and  the  consequences  of  past  battles:  returning  home  but  not  returning  whole.

  On  this  recording  Shabti  focuses  more  on  a  modern,  brutal,  technical  and  progressive  style  of  black  metal  which  is  different  from  previous  releases.  The  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics  cover  pat  live  experiences.

  A  very  dark  yet  heavy  sound  starts  off  the  album  while  the  riffs  also  add  in  a  decent  amount  of  melody.  All  of  the  musical  instruments  also  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them  along  with  the  faster  sections  of  the  songs  also  adding  in  a  lot  of  tremolo  picking,  blast beats  and  war  emtal  elements  which  also  gives  the  recording  more  of  a  raw  feeling.

  Vocals  bring  in  more  of  a  mid  80's  death/thrash  metal  style  while  also  adding  in  some  bestial  touches.  When  guitar  solos  and  leads  are  utilized  they  are  also  done  in a   very  old  school  yet  chaotic  style  along  with  the  album  also  mixing  in  a  lot  of  black  metal  influences  and  the  whole  album  sticks  to  a  heavier  direction.

  On  this  recording  Trench  Warfare  take  war  and  black  metal  and  mixes  it  with  mid  80's  and  early  90's  death  metal  with  a  touch  of  thrash  metal  to  create  a  very  heavy  and  brutal  album.  The  production  sounds  very  raw  and  heavy  while  the  lyrics  cover  death,  destruction,  perversion,  hatred  and  war  themes.

  Switzerland's  Death.Void.Terror  have  returned  with  a  new  recording  which  shows  the  music  going  for  an  experimental  and  ritualistic  mixture  of  black,  doom  and  death  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2026  ep  "To  The  Great  Monolith  2.5"  which  will  be  released  in  August  by  Sentient  Ruin  Laboratories.

  A  very  distorted  sound  starts  off  the  ep  along  with  some  ritualistic  spoken  words  and  synths  a  few  seconds  later.  harsh  vocals  are  mostly  grim  sounding  black  emtal  screams  while  elements  of  doom  metal are  also  added  into  the  slower  sections  of  the  recording  and  all  of  the  musical  instruments  also  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them.

  Chants  and  clear  singing  can  also  be  heard  briefly  while  the  music  also  goes  into  a  ritualistic  direction  at  times.  Death  metal  growls  are  also  added  into  certain  sections  of  the  recording  along  with  most  of  the  tracks  also  being  very  long  and  epic  in  length,  blast  beats  can  also  be  heard  briefly  and  most  of  the  music  sticks  to  a  slower  direction.

  On  this  recording  Death.Void,Terror  focuses  more  on  a  ritualistic  and  experimental  style  of  blackened  doom  metal.  The  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the  lyrics  cover  Occultism,  Death  and  Rituals.

  This  is  a  review  of  a  split  ep  between  Italy's  Vodun  and  Urugauy's  JPI  Vio-Lens  Kommand  called  "Messa  Nera"  which  will  be  released  in  August  as  a  joint  effort  between  Extreme  Chaos,  MWN!  Productions  and  Deathrash  Armageddon  and  we  will  start  off  the  review  with  Vodun  a  duo  that  plays  a  mixture  of  war,  black,  death  metal  and  noise.

  Their  side  of  the  split  starts  out  with  a  very  fast  and  raw  war  metal  style  which  also  utilizes  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats.  Vocals  are  a  mixture  of  bestial  growls  and  black  metal  screams  while  the  music  captures  a  very  lo-fi  atmosphere  and  all  of  the  musical  instruments  also  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them.

 Elements  of  noise  can  also  be  heard  at  times  along  with  the  songs  also  adding  in  a  good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast parts  as  well  as  one  track  also  adding  in  some  ritualistic  percussion.  The  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the  lyrics  cover  voodoo  rituals  and  esoteric  practives.

  In  my  opinion  Vodun  are  a  very  great  sounding  mixture  of  war,  black,  death  metal  and  noise  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  those  musical  genres,  you  should  check  out  this  duo.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Messa  nera"  and  "Besit".

  Next  up  is  JPI  Vio-Lens  Kommand  a  solo  project  that  plays  a  mixture  of  black,  death  and  thrash  metal.

  His  side  of  the  split  starts  out  with  a  very  fast  and  raw  sound  which  also  utilizes  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast b eats.  Vocals  are  mostly  high  pitched  black  metal  screams  while  the  music  also  adds  in  elements  of  death  and  thrash  metal  and  also  mixes  the  80's  and  90's  era  together.

  Dark  sounding  melodies  are  also  added  into  some  of  the  guitar  riffing  along  with  a  great  portion  of  the  tracks  also  being  very  short  in  length  and  one  of  the  songs  also  add  in  a  good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts,  voodoo  style  chants  and  percussion  are  also  added  towards  the  end.  The  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the  lyrics  are  written  in  Spanish  cover  death,  surrealism  and  esotericism  themes.

  In  my  opinion  JPI  Vio-Lens  Kommand  is  a  very  great  sounding  mixture  of  black,  death  and  thrash  metal  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  those  musical  genres,  you  should  check  out  this  solo  project.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Malicia"  and  "Santa  Cruz".  8  out  of  10.

  This  is  a  review  of  a  tribute  album  to  Norway's  Darkthrone  which  shows  bands  from  around  the  world  doing  cover  versions  of  many songs  ranging  from  the  earlier  to  current  era  and  the  album  will  be  released  on  July  23rd  by  Antichrist  Magazine  and  we  will  review  the  songs  one  by  one.

  Gravethorn(USA)  brings  us  "Cromlech"    which  starts  out  with  some  rain  and  thunder  sounds  while  also  adding  in  some  synths  before  going  into  a  heavier  direction  which  also  shows  the  vocals  mixing  both  black  metal  screams  and  death  metal  growls,  blast  beats  are  also  added  into  the  faster  sections  of  the  track  and  melodies  are  also  added  into  some  of  the  riffing  as  well  as  the  solos  and  leads  also  adding  in  more  of  an  old  school  approach. 

  Tyranno(Brazil)  brings  us  "In  The  Shadows  Of  The  Horns"  which  sounds  a  lot  like  the  original  version  with  the  vocals  being  mostly  black  metal  screams  with  a  first  wave  touch  while  most  of  the  track  sticks  to  a  mid  tempo  direction  and  when  the  music  speeds  up  a  decent  amount  of  blast  beats  can  be  heard,  clean  playing  is  also  added  towards  the  end.

  Myrdinger  (Sweden)  brings  us  "Summer  Of  The  Diabolical  Holocaust"  which  is  a  very  fast  and  raw  second  wave  style  black  metal  song  with  high  pitched  black  metal  screams  and  melodies  are  also  added  into  some  of  the  riffing  and  the  riffs  also  ad d in  a  small  amount  of  slow  and  mid  tempo  directions  as  well  as  the  solos  and  leads  sticking  to  more  of  a  90's  style.

  Vephar(Poland)  brings  us  "Unholy  Black  Metal"  which  is  another  song  from  the  bands  black  metal  era  with  a  lot  of  raw  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats  and  the  solos  and  leads  are  also  done  in  a  very  chaotic  style.

  Lamenting  Shadows(USA)  brings  us  "Transilvanian  Hunger"  a  song  that  has  been  done  over  and  over  again  by  too  many  bands  in  the  last  30  years  and  this  version  alo  remains  true  to  the  original  style  of  the  song.    

  Incineratus  (USA))  brings  us  "Skald  av  Satans  sol"  which  is  another  song  from  the  Transilvanian  Hunger  album  and  also  in  a  very  raw,  old  school  and  second  wave  Norwegian  black  metal  style.

  Genocide  Kult  (Poland)  brings  us  "Quintessence"  a  song  of  the  Panzerfaus  album  which  shows  more  of  a  mid  paced  approach  to  black  metal  without  losing  the  raw  aggression  of  the  earlier  releases  that  came  before.

  Death  Brigade  brings  (UK)  us  "The  Hordes  Of  Nebulah"  another  song  from  the  bands  black  metal  era  which  adds  in  a  lot  of  mid  tempo  riffing  and  high  pitched  black  metal  screams  and  the  solos  and  leads  are  also done  in  more  of  a  melodic  style.

  Aske  (Brazil)  brings  us  "Too  old  Too  Cold"  which  was  from  the  era  where  Darkthrone  started  incorporating  more  first  wave  and  crust  elements  into t heir  musical  style  and  the  song  is  done  in  more  of  a  mid  tempo  direction.

  Essedum  (Finland)  brings  us  "Fuck  of  And  Die"  which  shows  more  of  a  Motorhead  influence  with  some  touches  of  d  beat  and  the  vocals  move  from  a  grim  approach  to  more  of  a  first  wave  direction.

  Mead  Theif (USA)  brings  us  "Raised  On  Rock"  which  shows  the  music  bringing  in  more  of  a  mid  tempo  metal/punk  style  while  the  drums  also  add  in  some  d  beats  and  the  guitar  leads  are  done  in  a melodic  style.

  Praesepultus  (USA)  brings  us  "Rust"  which  starts  out  with  some  dark  soundscapes  before  going  into  a  heavier  direction  while  the  vocals  are  mostly  high  pitched  black  metal  screams  along  with  the  song  coming  from  the  early  2000's  era  of  the  band  and  most  of  the  music  sticks  to  a  mid  tempo  direction  before  going  into  a  faster  direction  with  some  raw  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats.  

  Trewan  (Germany)  brings  us  "Circle  The  Wagons"  which  shows  the  music  going  for  a  mixture  of  heavy/speed  metal  punk  while  the  vocals  have  more  of  a  black  metal  approach  and  the  track  is  done  in  more  of  a  mid  tempo  direction.      

  Ill  Tidings  (Austria)  brings  us  "Leave  No  Cross  Unturned"  which  showed  the  music  going  for  more  of  an  80's  speed  metal  direction  with  some  touches  of  thrash,  punk  and  first  wave  black  metal  and  the  vocals  also  add  in  more  of  a  power  metal  approach,  blast  beats  are  added  into  the  faster  section  of  the  song  and  the  solos  and  leads  are  done  in  more  of  melodic  style.

  Galdragon  brings  us  "The  Hardship  Of  The  Scots" which  showed  the  music  bring  in  more  of  a  mixture  of  first  wave  black  metal  and  traditional  metal  and  the  slow  riffs  also  mix  in  the  heaviness  of  doom  metal  and  the  vocals  bring  in  more  of  a  second  wave  black  metal  style.

  Wolftribe  (Poland)  closes  the  compilation  with  "Weakling  Avenger"  a  song  from  the  bands  2000's  era  which  was  still  in  the  fast  Nordic  black  metal  tradition  and  remained  true  to  the  style  established  o  the  earlier  releases.

  On  this  compilation  bands  from  around  the  world  cover  different  eras  of  Darkthrone's  music  with  songs  ranging  from  the  early  black  metal  era  to  the  more  modern  era  where  the b and  started  changing  their  style  around  a  lot.

  In  conclusion  I  feel t his  is  a  very  great  sounding  compilation  and  i  would  recommend  to  to  all  fans  of  both  Darkthrone's  older  and  newer  material.  8  out  of  10.\

Altarage/Cogwheel/Sentient Ruin Laboratories/Doomentia Records/2026 Full length Review

 

  Spain's  Altarage  have  returned  with  a  new  recording  which  shows  the  music  going  for  more  of  an  experimental  blackened  death  metal  style  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2026  album  "Cogwheel"  which  will  be  released  on  July  31st  as  a  joint  effort  between  Sentient  Ruin  Laboratories  and  Doomentia  Records.

 A  very  dark  yet  heavy  sound  starts  off  the  album  while  you  can  also  hear  all  of  the  musical  instruments  that  are  present  on  the  recording.  Vocals  are  a  mixture  of  black  metal  screams  and  death  metal  growls  along  with  the  slower  riffing  also  adding  in  elements  of  doom  metal  and  all  of  the  tracks  are  also  very  long  and  epic  in  length.

  Touches  of  industrial  metal  can  also  be  heard  at  times  while  the  faster  sections  of  the  album  also  adds  in  a  decent  amount  of  brutal  blast  beats.  Melodies  are  also  added  into  some  of  the  guitar  riffing  along  with  the  recording  also  having  its  experimental  moments  and  the  songs  also  bring  in  a  good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts.

  Throughout  the  album  you  can  also  hear  a  good  mixture  of  slow,  mid paced  and  fast  parts  along  with  the  guitar  leads  also  bringing  in  more  of  a  darker  style  when  they  are  utilized,  drones  and  soundscapes  can  also  be  heard  on  a  few  tracks  and  one  song  also  adds  in  a  brief  use  of  clear  singing,  clean  playing  is  also  used  briefly.  The  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics  cover  apocalyptic  themes.  

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Altarage  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  experimental  blackened  death  metal,  you  should  check  out  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACDKS  INCLUDE  "Peso  Muerto"  "1988"  and  "Industrial  Offering".  8  out  of  10.

  Kyrios  are  a  band  from  new  York  that  has  had  music  reviewed  before  in  this  zine  and  on  this  recording  plays  a  very  atmospheric  and  dissonant  form  of  black  metal  with  elements  of  dungeon  synth  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2026  ep  "Blood  Constellation"  which  will  be  released  in  August  by  Caligari  Records.

  A  dungeon  synth  orientated instrumental  starts  off  the  ep  before  going  into  a  heavier  direction  while  the  vocals  also  add  in  a  mixture  of  black  metal  screams  and  death  metal  growls.  Atmospheric  sounding  synths  and  keyboards  are  also  mixed  in  with  the  heavier  sections  of  the  songs  and  the  riffs  also  add  in  a  lot  of  melody.

  At  times  the  music  gets  very  dissonant  sounding  while  the  faster  sections  of  songs  also  add  in  a  decent  amount  of  blast  beats.  When  guitar  solos  and  leads  are  utilized  they  are  also  done  in  a  very  technical  style  along  with  the  ep  also  adding  in  a  good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts.

  On  this  recording  Kyrios  takes  a  very  atmospheric  and  dissonant  style  of  black  metal  and  mixes  it  with  technical  death  metal  and  dungeon  synths  to  create  something  very  different  from  their  previous  releases.  The  production  sounds  very  raw  and  heavy  while  the  lyrics  cover  mythological  themes.

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Kyrios  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  atmospheric  black, death  metal  and  dungeon  synth,  you  should  check  out  this  ep.  RECOMMENDED  TRACK  "A  Highborn  Sacrifice".  8  out  of  10.

Sev Lezu/Blood Conscript/Ordovician Records/2026 Full Length Review

  Sev  Lezu  are  a  band  from  the  United  States  that  plays  an  aggressive  and  melodic  mixture  of  black,  death  metal  and  grindcore  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2026  album  "Blood  Conscript"  which  will  be  released  in  August  by  Ordovician  Records.

  Field  recordings  and  synths  start  off  the  album  before  going  into  a  very  fast  and  raw  musical  direction  which  also  utilizes  a  great  amount  of tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats.  Vocals  are  mostly  grim  sounding  black  metal  screams  while  the  music  is  also  very  heavily  rooted  in  the  old  school  era  of  the  genre.

  Melodies  are  also  added  into  a  lot  of  the  guitar  riffing  while  the  music  also  captures  the  brutality  of  gri9ndcore  at  times.  Throughout  the  recording  you  can  also  hear a   good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  along  with  the  album  also  adding  in  a  lot  of  death  metal  elements  as  well  as  one  song  also  adding  in  a  brief  use  of  clean  playing  and  one  track  is  also  an  instrumental.

  Sev  Lezu  plays  a  musical  style  that  takes  a  very  melodic  and  old  school  form  of  black metal  and  mixes  it  with  death  metal  and  grindcore  to  create  a  sound  of t heir  own.  The  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the  lyrics  cover  ancient  mythology, a  hateful  pantheon  and  ensanguined  revenge.

  In  my  opinion  Sev  Lezu  are  a  very  great  sounding  aggressive  and  melodic  mixture  of  black,  death  metal  and  grindcore  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  those  musical  genres,  you  should  check  out  this  band.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "The  Stillborn"  and  "Man's  Evil  Gift".  8  out  of  10.

Astral Evocation/Abditus Perditio/2025 Full Length Review

 

   Astral  Evocation  are  a  band  from  Mexico  that  has  had  music  reviewed  before  in  this  zine  and  on  this  recording  goes  for  a  very  avant  garde  and  orthodox  form  of  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  self  released  2025  album  "Abditus  Perditio".

  Avant  garde  sounds  start  off  the  album  and  also  mix  in  with  the  heavier  sections  of  the  songs  at  times.  Clear  vocals  can  also b e  heard  briefly  while  the  faster  parts  of  the  album  also  add  in  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast b eats  which  also  gives  the  music  more  of  a  raw  feeling  and  the  recording  also  has  its  prohressive  moments.

  Vocals  are  a  mixture  of  black  metal  screams  and  death  metal  growls  while  the  album  also  adds  in  a  good  balance  between  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts.  Melodies  are  also  added  into  some  of  the  guitar  riffing  along  with  some  of  the  tracks  also  being  very  long  and  epic  in  length  and  the  solos  and  leads  are  also  done  in  a  very  dissonant  style.

  Keyboards  are  also  added  into  certain  sections  of  the  recording  along  with  all  of  the  musical  instruments  also  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them.  Spoken  words  can  also  be  heard  at  times  as  well  as  one  song  also  being  an  instrumental  and  they  close  the  album  with  a  Der  Weg  Einer  Freheit  cover.  The  production  sounds  vey  dark  and  raw  while  the  lyrics  are  written  in  Spanish  and  cover  the  conjuring  of  primordial  forces  of  Abyss  Void,  and  Chaos.

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Astral  Evocation  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  avant  garde  and  orthodox  black  metal,  you  should  check  out  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Abyssum  Incorporeum  (Perditio  Movement  I)"  and  "Umbral  oculto  de  transmutaciones  caóticas  (Perditio  Movement  III)".  8  out  of  10.

  Ataud  are  a  band  from  the  United  Kingdom  that  plays  a  satanic  form  of  black  metal  with  elements  of  death  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2023  album  "Satan's  Vindication"  which  was  released  in  2023  by  Marwoleath  Records.

  Dark  soundscapes  and  bells  start  off  the  album  before  going  into  a  heavier  direction  while  the  faster  sections  of  the  songs  also  add  in a   great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats  which  also  gives  the  music  more  of  a  raw  feeling  along  with  the  vocals  also  adding  in a   mixture  of black  metal  screams  and  death  metal  growls.

  Throughout  the  album  you  can  also  hear  a  good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  while  dark  sounding  melodies  are  also  added  into  some  of  the  guitar  riffing.  A  lot  of  the  music  is  also  very  heavily  influenced  by  the  South  American  style  along  with  some  tracks  also  adding  in  a  small  amount  of  synths.

   Some  of  the  songs  also  add  in  a  small  amount  of  ritualistic  touches  as  well  as  the  solos  and  leads  also  adding  in  more  of  an  old  school  approach  when  they  are  introduced  along  with  one  song  also  bringing  in  a  brief  use  of  clear  singing,  all  of  the  musical  instruments  also  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them.  The  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the  lyrics  cover  Satanism,  Occultism,  Paganism,  Darkness  and  Death  themes.  

  In  my  opinion  Ataud  are  a  very  great  sounding  satanic  black  metal b and  with  elements  of  death  metal  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Under  The  Night  Of  Cold  Saturn"  "Satan's  Vindication"  "May  Demons  Fuck  Your  Rotten  Corpse"  and  "Smell  of  Death".  8  out  of  10.

  Endscape  are  a  duo  from  Ontario,  Canada  that  plays  a  sci-fi  themed  form  of  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2026  album  "First  Contact"  which  will  be  released  in  October  by  Transcending  Obscurity  Records.

  A  very  fast  and  raw  sound  starts  off  the  album  along  with  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats.  Vocals  are done  in  more  of  a  deep  growling  style  mixed  in  with  a  few  black  metal  screams  while  the  electronic  sounds  also  add  in  more  of  a  sci-fi  atmosphere  when  they  are  utilized.

  Melodies  are  also  added  into  some  of  the  guitar  riffing  while  the  album  also  adds  in  a  good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts.  When  guitar  solos  and  leads  are  utilized  they  are  also  done  in  a  very  melodic  style  along  with  some  songs  also  adding  in  a  small  amount  of  robotic  orientated  clear  singing,  synths  are  used  quite  a  bit  throughout  the  recording  and  the  music  also  incorporates  elements  of  death  metal  and  industrial.

  Endscape  plays  a  style  of  black  metal  that  is  very  aggressive  and  experimental  as  well  as  adding  in  elements  of  electronic  music,  industrial  and  death  metal  to  create  a  sound  of  their  own.  The  production  sounds  very  raw  and  heavy  while  the  lyrics  cover  science  fiction  themes.

  In  my  opinion  Endscpae  are  a  very  great  sounding  sci-fi  themed  black  metal  duo  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Fist  Transmission"  "Fourth  Transmission"  "Sixth  Transmission"  and  "Ninth  Transmission".  8  out  of  10.
