Ossuaire/Triumvirat/Sepulchral Producitons/2021 Full Length Review

Montreal,  Quebec,  Canada's  Ossuaire  has  returned  with  a  new  recording  which  shows  the  music  going  for  more  of  a  raw and  old  school  form  of  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2021  album  "Triumvirat"  which  will  be  released  in  December  by  Sepulchral  Productions.

A  synth  orientated  intro  starts  off  the  album  before  going  into  a  very  fast  and  raw  musical  direction  which  also  utilizes  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats.  Vocals  are  mostly  high  pitched  black  metal  screams  while  most  of  the  tracks  are  also  very  long  and  epic  in  length  and  all  of  the  musical  instruments  also have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them.

Throughout  the  recording  you  can  also  hear  a  decent  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  while  the  songs  also  add  in  a  good  amount  of  old  school  influences.  One  of  the  tracks  also  introduces  clean  vocals  onto  the  album  along  with  the  riffs  also  adding  in  a  decent  amount  of  melody  as  well  as  one  song  also  adding  introducing  acoustic  guitars  onto  the  second  half  of  the  recording  and  spoken  word  parts  and  atmospheric  elements  can  also  be  heard  briefly  towards  the  end

On  this  recording  Ossuaire  goes  for  more  of  a  raw,  old  school  and  traditional  style  of  black  metal.  The  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the  lyrics  are  written  in  French  and  covers  the  triumphant  over  the  holy  land  of  Christianity.

In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Ossuaire  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  raw  and  old  school  black  metal,  you  should  check  out  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Le  Sainte  Purge"  and  "Ignipotentis".  8  out  of  10.

Ossuaire/Derniers Chants/Sepulchral Productions/2019 CD Review

Ossuaire  are  a  band  from  Montreal,  Quebec,  Canada  that  has  had  music  reviewed  before  in this  zine  and  on  this  recording  plays  an  anti  Christian  form  of  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2019  album  "Demiers  Chants"  which  will  be  released  in  October  by  Spulchral  Productions.

A  very  dark  and  heavy  sound  starts  off  the  album  while  most  of  the  tracks  are  very  long  and  epic  in  length.  During  the  faster  sections  of  the  songs  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats  can  be  heard  which  also  gives  the  music  more  of  a  raw  feeling  and  the  vocals  are  mostly  grim  sounding  black  metal  screams.

All  of  the  musical  instruments  also  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them  while  the  songs  also  add  in  a  decent  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts.  The  music  also  adds in  a  good  amount  of  90's  influences  as  well  as  the  riffs  also  utilizing  some  melodies  on  later  tracks  and  as  the  album  progresses  a  brief  instrumental  which  also  introduces  classical  guitars  and  synths  onto  the  recording  before  returning  back  to  a  heavier  direction,  spoken  word  parts  are  also  used  briefly  on  the  closing  track.

On  this  recording  Ossuaire  plays  more  of  a  raw,  traditional  and  old  school  style  of  black  metal. The  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the  lyrics  are  written  in  French  and  cover  the  downfall  of  Christianity.

In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  album  from  Ossuaire  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  anti  Christian  black  metal,  you  should  check  out  this  recording.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Pestilence  rampante"  and  "L'Oeil-Sang".  8  out  of  10.

Ossuaire/Premiers Chants/Sepulchral Productions/2019 CD Review

Ossuaire  are  a  band  from  Montreal,  Quebec,  Canada  that  plays  a  very  unwholesome  form  of  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2019  album  "Premiers  Chants"  which  will  be  released  on  April  26th  by  Sepulchral  Productions.

Ritualistic  sounding  synths  start  off  the  album  before  going  into a  very  fast  and  raw  musical  direction  which  also  uses  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats.  Vocals  are  mostly  grim  black  metal  screams  while  the  music  also  has  its  atmospheric  moments  and  you  can  also  hear  all  of  the  musical  instruments  that  are  presented  on  the  recording.

A  great  portion  of  the  tracks  are  very  long  and  epic  in  length  while  the  music  also  brings  in  a  great  amount  of  90's  influences  but  still  maintaining  a very  modern  atmosphere. Throughout  the  recording  you  can  also  hear  a  great  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  as  well  as  some  melodic  chants  also  being  added  into  certain  parts  of  the  music.

Bells  and  fire  sounds  can  also  be  heard  briefly  along  with  some  of  the  riffing  also  adding  in  a  small  amount  of  melody  at  times.  As  the  album  progresses  a  brief  use  of  acoustic  guitars  and  spoken word  parts  can  also  be  heard  before  returning  back  to a  heavier  direction.  The  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the  lyrics  are  written  in  a  mixture  of  French  and  English  and  cover  the  downfall  of  Christianity  and  the  rise  of  heresy.

In  my  opinion  Ossuarie  are  a  very  great  sounding raw,  corrosive  and  melodic  black  metal  band  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Premiers  Chants"  and  "Le  Grande  Apostasie".  8  out  of  10.
