Pro Inferi are a band from Russia that plays a very raw and orthodox form of satanic black metal and this is a review of their 2015 album "Diaboliad" which was released by Echo Abyssi.
A very dark, melodic and heavy sound starts off the album along with some grim black metal screams a few seconds later and all of the musical instruments on the recording have a very powerful sound to them and when the music speeds up a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats can be heard which also gives the music more of a raw feeling.
Most of the music is very heavily rooted in the 90's second wave black metal tradition and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and a couple of the tracks are long and epic in length and when guitar solos and leads are utilized they are done in a very dark and melodic fashion and a couple of tracks towards the end also brings in a brief use of acoustic guitars and clean guitar as well as adding in a small amount of spoken word parts.
Pro Inferi plays a style of black metal that is very raw, traditional and melodic in the 90's second wave tradition, the production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics are written in Russian and cover Satanism and Darkness themes.
In my opinion Pro Inferi are a very great sounding raw and orthodox satanic black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Death Is The Reward" "Born For The Death" and "The Black Belfry Of Ruthless Eternity". 8 out of 10.
