Hellbeast/Genocide Rituals/Vanguard Productions/2015 EP Review

Hellbeast  are  a  band  from  Massachusetts  that  plays  a  mixture  of  war,  black  and  death  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2015  ep  "Genocide  Rituals"  which  was  released  by  Vanguard  Productions.

Horror  movie  samples  start  off  the  ep  and  after  the  intro  the  music  starts  going  for  more  of  an  early  90's  raw  black/war  metal  sound  and  there  is  also  a  great  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  present  throughout  the  recording  along  with  some  of  the  darker  side  of  death  metal  in  the  melodies.

A  great  amount  of  the  music  has  a  very  lo-fi  feeling  and  some  of  the  later  songs  also  bring  in  a  small  amount  of  growls  and  the  songs  also  bring  back  the  feeling  of  a  great  amount  of  early  90's  demos  that  where  very  under  produced  and  you  can  also  hear  a  bit  of  the  primitive  sloppiness  of  that  era  and  the  songs also  sound  like  they  could  of  easily  been  recorded  and  released  during  that  time  frame  and  one  of  the  songs  also  brings  in  a  brief  use  of  clean  singing  and  melodic  guitar  leads.

Hellbeast  creates  some  black/death/war  metal  that  is  very  heavily  rooted  in  the  early  days  of  those  genres  and  also  bring  back  some  great  memories  from  that  era,  the  production  sounds very  raw  and  old  school  while  the  lyrics  cover  Satanism,  Occultism  and  Blasphemous  themes  along  with  one  of  the  tracks  being  written  in  German.

In  my  opinion    Hellbeast  are  a  very  great  sounding  old  school  mixture  of  black,  death  and  war  metal  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  those  musical  genres ,  you  should  check  out  this  band.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Drone  Strike  Baphomet"  and  "Ascend  Subterran  Hell".  8  out  of  10.

Hellbeast/Cacophony Of Erotic Evil/Jeshimoth Entertainment/2012 CD Review

This  is  the  final  review  of  an  album  from  Hellbeast  which  continues  their mid  paced,  raw  and  primitive  approach  to bestial  black/death  metal  with  the  album  being  released  by  Jeshimoth  Entertainment  which  was  released  in  2012  under  the  album  name  "Cacophony  Of  Erotic  Evil.

Drum  programming  ranges  from  slow,  mid  paced  to  fast  beats,  while  the  bass  playing  has  a  very dark  and  evil  primitive  sound  with  riffs  that  follow  the  riffing  that  are  coming  out  of  the   guitars  and  at  times  they  sound  powerful.

Rhythm  guitars  range  from  slow,  mid  paced  and  some  bestial  black  metal  riffs  with  a  great  amount  of  old  school  death  and  doom  metal  influences,  while  the  lead  guitars  which  are  only  used briefly  are  very  slow  black  metal  leads.

Vocals  are  all  bestial  black/death  metal  growls  that  only  concentrate  on  the  low  end  along  with  a  brief  use  of  demonic  laughter,  while  the  lyrics  cover  Satanism,  Occultism,  Darkness,  and  Anti  Christian  themes,  as  for  the  production  it  has  a  very  dark,  raw  and  primitive  sound  to  it.

In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Hellbeast  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  raw  and  primitive  bestial  black/death  metal,  you  should  enjoy  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Lashing  The  Broken  Christ-Slave"  "Conjuration  Of  Entropy"  "Summoning  The  War  Mists"  and  "Cacophony  Of  Erotic  Evil".  RECOMMENDED  BUY.
