1.For those that have never heard of you before, can you tell us a little bit about the band? We are a black metal band from a rural area of Ohio that also incorporates elements of thrash and death metal
2.So far you have released a demo, single and a couple of ep's, musically how do they both differ from each other?
During the time of the demo, we didn't take the band as serious and would get drunk at most practices. And we had much a much more crude recording setup. So musically, the demo is rather sloppy. By the time we released the "Screams of Agony" single, we had our second guitarist join the band and we quit getting drunk at practices. The single itself shows a tighter, meaner sound. The " Blood for Blood" EP had more mics and inputs to work with, so the mix came out slightly better. And our newest "Bringer of Light" EP introduces the use of a trigger for the kick drum. Only to get a better tone to help cut through the mix.
3.What are some of the lyrical topics and subjects the band has explored so far with the music?
Death, war, heathendom, the occult, anti- Christianity, &revolting against corruption brought forth by its sickening ways.
4.According to the facebook page, the band rejoices all pagan and heathen t=roots and nationalities, can you tell us a little bit more about it?
It means we respect all pre- Christian ways of life. Further proving mankind never needed this plague of religion to survive.
5.What is the meaning and inspiration behind the name 'Blasphemous Blessings'?
It's a duality of light and dark, good and evil, etc. You can find evil in what people consider " good" and vice versa. It is up to the individual to see through the bullshit society constantly bombards you with and understand why things are the way they are.
6.Can you tell us a little bit more about the artwork that is presented on the new ep cover?
It is the ruins of an old church that had burned down and the reaper image of the previous EP superimposed in the rubble to show our praise of such happenings.
7.What are some of the best shows that the band has played so far and also how would you describe your stage performance?
Some of the best I'd say have been a festival we played out of state, First Friday in Downtown Canton (the closest city to us), & at a meadery with other great bands. I'd describe our stage performance as dark and energetic.
8.On a worldwide level how has the reaction been to your music by fans of black metal?
So far we've had nothing but positive feedback. Our metal- archives page was created and is curated by an international crowd, so obviously our music has done well on foreign soil.
9.When can we expect a full length and also where do you see the band heading into musically during the future?
We're not too sure of when we'll have enough for a full length at this time. We have discussed going slightly more atmospheric, so that might happen on the future.
10.What are some of the bands or musical styles that have had an influence on your music and also what are you listening to nowadays?
Exodus, pre- Viking Bathory, 80's era Death, Sargeist, Goatmoon, Sodom,&Destruction. Nowadays I've been checking out lesser known bands like Dawn (Swe), Swordmaster, Treblinka, and Ildjarn.
11.What are some of your non musical interests?
Skateboarding, retro gaming, reading mythology, history, horror, & classic literature, watching horror movies, sportsman activities I.e. fishing, hunting, and camping, drinking beer AT HOME & spending time with my friends and family.
12.Before we wrap up this interview, do you have any final words or thoughts?
Fuck ANTIFA! They are the REAL Nazis! Forcefully spreading their dogma while hiding behind front of "positivity". I do wish for peace, but when push comes to shove...
