Dark Divination/Wampyric Rites/Finnish Ecuador Alliance/Signal Rex/2026 Split EP Review

 

  This  is  a  review  of  a  split  ep  between  Finland's  Dark  Divination  and  Ecuador's  Wampyric  Rites  called  "Finnish  Ecuador  Alliance"  which  will  be  released  in  May  by  Signal  Rex  and  we  will  start  off  the  review  with  Dark  Divination  who  returns  with  a  raw  and  old  school  style  of  black  metal.

  His  side  of  the  split  starts  out  with  a  very  distorted  sound  before  going  into  a  heavier  direction  while  the  guitar  leads  are  done  in  a  melodic  style.  Vocals  are  mostly  high  pitched  black  metal  screams,  synths  can  also  be  heard  briefly  along  with  the  faster  sections  of  the  song  also  adding  in  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast b eats  which  also  gives  the  track  more  of  a  raw  feeling,  the  music  is  also  very  heavily  rooted  in  the  classic  Finnish  style.  The  Production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  and  the  lyrics  cover  hatred  and  nihilism  themes.

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  track  with  Dark  Divination  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  raw  and  old  school  black  metal,  you  should  check  out  this  side  of  the  split.

  Next  up  is  Wampyric  Rites  who  return  with  their  raw,  old  school  and  vampyric  style  of  black  metal.

  Their  side  of  the  split  starts  out  with  a  very  fast  sound  along  with  a  good  amount  of  blast  beats  while  synths  can  also  be  heard  in  the  background.  When  guitar  solos  and  leads  are  utilized  they  are  done  in  a  very  melodic  style  as  well  as  the  vocals  being  mostly  high  pitched  black  metal  screams  mixed  in  with  a  few  growls,  tremolo  picking  is  also  added  into  some  of  the  fast  riffing  and  the  riffs  also  add  in  a  decent  amount  of  melody.  The  production  sounds  raw  and  old  school  and  the  lyrics  cover  Vampirism  and  Evil  themes.  

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  track  from  Wampyric  Rites  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  raw,  old  school  and  vampyric  black  metal,  you  should  check  out  their  side  of t h e split.

  In  conclusion  I  feel  this  is  a  very  great  sounding  split  and  I  would  recommend  it  to  all  fans  of  raw  and  old  school  black  metal.  8  out  of  10.

  This  is  a  review  of  a  split  album  between  Ecuador's  Wampyric  Rites  and  Ukraine's  Moloch  called  "The  Serpent  Cult  Of  Darkness"  which  will  be  released  in  June  by  Inferna  Profundus  Records  and  we  will  start  off  the  review  with  Wampyric  Rites  who  returns  with  their  raw  and  vampyric  style  of  black  metal.

  Their  side  of  the  split  starts  out  with  some  wind  sounds  and  clean  playing  before  going  into  a  very  fast  and  raw  musical  direction  which  also  utilizes  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats.  Vocals  are  mostly  high  pitched  black  metal  screams  while  both  of  the  tracks  are  also  very  long  and  epic  in  length.

  Melodies  are  also  added  into  some  of  the  guitar  riffing  along  with  the  vocals  also  having  their  deep  and  grim  moments.  When  guitar  solos  and  leads  are  utilized  they  are  done  in  a  very  melodic  style  as  well  as  the  songs  also  adding  in  a  good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts.  The  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the  lyrics  cover  Vampirism  and  Darkness  themes.

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Wampyric  Rites  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  raw  and  vampyric  black  metal,  you  should  check  out  their  side  of  the  split.  RECOMMENDED  TRACK  "The  Mystical  Singing  Of  The  Lone  Wolf  In  A  Cold  Forest.

  Next  up  is  Moloch  who  returns  with  their  raw  and  atmospheric  style  of  ambient  black  metal.

  Their  side  of  the  split  starts  out  with  some  ambient  style  synths  which  also  mixes  in  with  the  heavier  sections  of  the  songs  at  times  while  most  of  their  tracks  are  also  instrumentals.  Vocals  are  mostly  grim  yet  high  pitched  sounding  black  metal  screams  along  with  some  melody  also  being  added  into t he  guitar  riffing. 

  At  times  the  music  also  gets  very  atmospheric  sounding  along  with  the  faster  sections  of  the  song  also  adds  in  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast b eats  which  also  gives  their  side  of  the  recording  more  of  a  raw  feeling.  The  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the  lyrics  cover  unholy  themes.

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Moloch  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  raw  and  atmospheric  ambient  black  metal,  you  should  check  out  their  side  of  the  split.  Enthroned!  Thy  Unholy  Spirit!".

  In  conclusion  I  feel  this  is  a  very  great  sounding  split  and  I  would  recommend  it  to  all  fans  of  ambient,  atmospheric,  raw  and  vampyric  black  metal.  8  out  of  10.

  When  the  music  speeds  up  a  decent  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats  can  be  heard  which  also  gives  the  songs  more  of  a  raw  feeling.  The  songs  also  mix  in  a  decent  amount  of  90's  influences  along  with  the  tracks  also  adding  in  a  decent  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and fast  parts. When  guitar  solos  and  leads  are  utilized  they  are  also  done  in  a  very  melodic  style  and  the  riffs  also  add  in  a  small  amount  of  melody,  one  song  also  adds  in  a  brief  use  of  spoken  word  parts  and  the  demo  closes  with  an  instrumental.

  On  this  recording  Wampyric  Rites  went  for  more  of  a  raw  and  vampyric  style  of  black  metal.  The  production  sounds  very  dark,  raw  and  lo-fi  while  the  lyrics  are  written  in  Spanish  and  cover  Vampirism  and  Darkness  themes. 

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Wampyric  Rites  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  raw  and  vampyric  black  metal,  you  should  check  out  this  re-issue.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Frio  invierno  del  sur "  and  "El  dolor  de  los  sueños  y  la  melancolía".  8  out  of  10.

  This  is  a  review  of  another  recording  from  Ecuador's  duo  Wampyric  Rites  which  shows  the  music  going  for  a  raw  and  dissonant  style  of  vampyric  black  metal  with  elements  of  medieval  dungeon  synth  and  the  demo  was  originally  released  in  2020  and  will  be  re-issued  march,  2023  by  Inferna  Profundus  Records.

  A  dungeon  synth  style  intro  starts  off  the  demo  before  going  into  more  of  a  heavier  and  lo-fi  style.  When  tremolo  picking  is  utilized  they  also  give  the  songs  more  of  a  raw  feeling  along  with  some  melodies  also  being  added  into  the  guitar  riffing  at  times  and  the  vocals  are  mostly  high  pitched  black  metal  screams.

  The  music  also  has  its  dissonant  moments  while  most  of  the  demo  consists  of  dungeon  synth  instrumentals  which  also  capture  a  very  medieval  style  atmosphere.   When  the  music  speeds  up  a  decent  amount  of  blast  beats  can  be  heard  along  with  the  heavier  sections  of  the  demo  also  adding  in  some  influences  from  the  90's  era  and  guitar  leads  and  clean  playing  can  also  be  heard  briefly. 

  On  this  recording  Wampyric  Rites  brought  in  a  decent  mixture  of  both  raw,  dissonant  vampyric  black  metal  tracks  and  dungeon  synth  instrumentals.  The  production  sounds  very  dark,  raw  and  lo-fi  while  the  lyrics  cover  Vampirism  and  Darkness  themes.

  Their  side  of  the  split  starts  out  with  a  very  dark  yet  heavy  sound  that  is  very  heavily  rooted  in  the  90's  era.  When  the  music  speeds  up  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats  can b e  heard  which  also  gives  the  songs  more  of  a  raw  feeling  while  the  vocals  are  mostly  grim  sounding  black  metal  screams.

  Some  of t heir  tracks  are  also  long  and  epic  in  length  along  with  the  songs  also  adding  in  a  decent  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts.  Clean  playing  can  be  heard  on  a  couple  of  songs  as  well  as  the  songs  also  capturing  a  very  lo-fi  atmosphere  at  times.  The  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the  lyrics  pay  homage  to  the  great  black  dragon.

  This  is  a  review  of  an  earlier  recording  from  Ecuador's  Wampyric  Rites  which  showed  the  music  going  for  more  of  a  raw  and  vampyric  style  of  black  metal  with  some  elements  of  dungeon  synth  and  the  ep  was  originally  released  in  2019  by  Death  Prayer  Records  and  called  "...In  The  Desolate  Forest  Of  Eternity".

  Dungeon  synth  style  synths which  also  makes  a  return  in  certain  sections  of  the  recording      start  off  the  album  before  going  into  a  heavier  direction.  When  the  music  speeds  up  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast b eats  can b e  heard  which  also  gives  the  songs  more  of  a  raw  feeling.

  Vocals  are  mostly  high  pitched  black  metal  screams  while  all  of  the  musical  instruments  on  the  recording  also  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them.  Dark  sounding  melodies  are  also  added  into  some  of  the  guitar  riffing  along  with  the  songs  also  adding  in  a  decent  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  as  well  as  some  deep  growls  also  being  utilized  at  times  and  a   couple  of  the  tracks  are  also  instrumentals.

  Ecuador's  Wampyric  Rites  has  returned  with  a  new  recording  which  continues  the  raw,  old  school  and  vampyric  style  of  black  metal  from  previous  releases  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2022  album  "The  Wolves  Howl  To  The  Moon"  which  will  be  released  in  August  by  Signal  Rex.

  Medieval  organs  and  synths  start  off  the  album  bringing  in  elements  of  dungeon  synth  before  going  into  a  very  fast  and r aw  musical  direction  which  also  utilizes  a  great  amount  of  blast  beats  and  tremolo  picking.  Most  of  the  tracks  are  also  very  long  and  epic  in  length  and  the  vocals  are  mostly  high  pitched  black  metal s creams.

  Demonic  voices  can  also  be  heard  at  times  while  the  music  also  adds  in  a  great  amount  of  90's  influences.  Throughout  the  recording  you  can  also  hear  a  decent  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  along  with  the  synths  also  mixing  in  with  the  heavier  sections  of  the  songs  at  times  as  well  as  some  melodic  guitar  solos  leads  also  being  utilized  as  the  album  progresses  and  one  of  the  tracks  is  also  an  instrumental,  acoustic  guitars  and  nature  sounds  can  also  be  heard  briefly.

  His  side  of  the  split  starts  out  with  some  clean  playing  before  going  into  a  very  fast  and  raw  musical  direction  which  also  uses  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats.  Both  of  his  tracks  are  very  long  and  epic  in  length  while  the  vocals  are  mostly  high  pitched  black  metal  screams  and  the  music  also  adds  in  a  great  amount  of  90's  influences.

  Next  up  is  Wampyric  Rites  who  return  with  their  raw  and  vampiric  style  of  black  metal.

  Their  side  of  the  split  starts  out  with  a  very  dark  and  heavy  sound  while  both  of  their  tracks  are  also  very  long  and  epic  in  length.  Vocals  are  mostly  high  pitched  black  metal  screams  along  with  all  of  the  musical  instruments  also  having  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them  and  the  songs  also  add  in  a  lot  of  90p's  influences.

  When  the  music  speeds  up  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats  can  be  heard  which  also  gives  the  songs  more  of  a  raw  feeling.  When  guitar  solos  and  leads  are  utilized  they  are  also  done  in  a  very  dark  yet  melodic  style  as  well  as  the  songs  also  adding  in  a  decent  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts,  synths  and  clean  vocals  can  also  be  heard  briefly.  The  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the  lyrics  cover  Vampirism  and  Darkness  themes.

  This  is  a  review  of  a  4  way  split  album  between  Ecuador's  Wampyric  Rites,  Satanic  Count,  Winterstorm  and  Demonic  War  called  "Night  Of  Consecration"  which  was  released  by  Humanity's  Plague  Productions  and  we  will  start  off  the  review  with  Wampyric  Rites  a  band  that  has  had   music  reviewed  before  in  this  zine  and  plays  a  very  raw  and  vampiric  form  of  black  metal.

  Their  side  of  the  split  starts  out  with  some  dungeon  synth  style  synths  before  going  into  a  heavier  musical  direction.  Dark  sounding  melodies  are  also  added  into  some  of  the  riffing  while  all  of  the  musical  instruments  also  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them  and  the  vocals  are  mostly  grim y et  high  pitched  black  metal  screams.

  Their  side  of  the  split  starts  out  with  a  very  dark  and  heavy  sound  before  going  into  a  very  fast  and  raw  musical  direction  which  also  uses  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats.  Vocals  are  mostly  grim  sounding  black  metal  screams  and  the  music  is  also  heavily  rooted  in t he  90's  era.

  Throughout  their  side  of  the  recording  you  can  also  hear  a  decent  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts.  When  spoken  word  parts  are  utilized  they  also  give  the  music  more  of  a  ritualistic  feeling  and  when  guitar  leads  are  utilized  they  are  also  done  in  a  very  old  school  style.  The  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the  lyrics  cover  Satanism  and  Darkness  themes.

  In  my  opinion  Satanic  Count  are  a  very  great  sounding  raw  and  satanic  black  metal  band  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  their  side  of  the  split.  RECOMMENDED  TRACK  "Humanity  Void".

  Next  up  is  Winterstorm  a  band  that  plays  a  raw  form  of  black  metal.

  Their  side  of  the  split  starts  out  with  a  very  fast  and  raw  sound  which  also  uses  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats.  When  guitar  solos  and  leads  are  utilized  they  are  also  done  in  a  very  dark  yet  melodic  style  along  with  the  vocals  being  mostly  high  pitched  black  metal  screams.

  Next  up  is  Demonic  War  a  band  that  plays  a  very  raw  form  of  black  metal.

  Their  side  of  the  split  starts  out  with  a  very  fast  and  raw  sound  which  also  uses  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats.  Dark  sounding  melodies  are  also  added  into  some  of  the  guitar  riffing  while  the  vocals  are  mostly  high  pitched  black  metal  screams  and  the  songs  also  add  in  a  lot  of  90's  influences.

  In  my  opinion  Demonic  War  are  a  very  great  sounding  raw  and  old  school  black  metal  band  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  their  side  of  the  split.  RECOMMENDED  TRACK  "Empty  Shelter".

  In  conclusion  I  feel  this  is  a  very  great  sounding  split  and  would  recommend  it  to  all  fans  of  old  school,  raw,  satanic  and  vampiric  black  metal.  8  out  of  10.

  Wampyric  Rites  are  a  band  from  Ecuador  that  plays  a  very  raw,  old  school  and  vampyric  form  of  black  metal and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2021  album  "The  Eternal  Melancholy  Of  The  Wampire"  which  will  be  released  in  February  by  Inferna  Profundus  Records.

  Synths  start  off  the  album  and  also  brings  in  elements  of  dungeon  synth  onto  the  recording  before  going  into  a  very  fast  and  raw  musical  direction  which  also  utilizes  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats.  Vocals  are  mostly  high  pitched  black  metal  screams  while  the  music  is  very  heavily  rooted  in  the  90's  era.

  Throughout  the  recording  you  can  also  hear  a  decent  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  while  a  great  portion  of  the  tracks  are  also  very  long  and  epic  in  length.  At  times  the  music  also captures  a  very  lo-fi  atmosphere  along  with  one  of  the  songs  also  introducing  guitar  solos  and  leads  onto  the  recording  as  well  as  the  vocals  also  adding  in  a  deeper growling  approach  on  a  later  song.

  Wampyric  Rites  plays  a  style  of  black  metal  that  is  very  raw,  old  school  and  vampyric  sounding.  The  production  sounds  very  dark and  raw  while  the  lyrics  cover  vampirism  and  darkness  themes.
