This is a review of a 4 way split album between Ecuador's Wampyric Rites, Satanic Count, Winterstorm and Demonic War called "Night Of Consecration" which was released by Humanity's Plague Productions and we will start off the review with Wampyric Rites a band that has had music reviewed before in this zine and plays a very raw and vampiric form of black metal.
Their side of the split starts out with some dungeon synth style synths before going into a heavier musical direction. Dark sounding melodies are also added into some of the riffing while all of the musical instruments also have a very powerful sound to them and the vocals are mostly grim y et high pitched black metal screams.
When the music speeds up a decent amount of blast beats can also be heard along with the tremolo picking also giving the songs more of a raw feeling when it is utilized. The songs also add in a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover Vampirism and Darkness themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Wampyric Rites and if you are a fan of raw and vampiric black metal, you should check out their side of the split. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Les Rites Secrets du Vampire".
Next up is Satanic Count a band that plays a very raw and satanic form of black metal.
Their side of the split starts out with a very dark and heavy sound before going into a very fast and raw musical direction which also uses a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats. Vocals are mostly grim sounding black metal screams and the music is also heavily rooted in t he 90's era.
Throughout their side of the recording you can also hear a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts. When spoken word parts are utilized they also give the music more of a ritualistic feeling and when guitar leads are utilized they are also done in a very old school style. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover Satanism and Darkness themes.
In my opinion Satanic Count are a very great sounding raw and satanic black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out their side of the split. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Humanity Void".
Next up is Winterstorm a band that plays a raw form of black metal.
Their side of the split starts out with a very fast and raw sound which also uses a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats. When guitar solos and leads are utilized they are also done in a very dark yet melodic style along with the vocals being mostly high pitched black metal screams.
Throughout their side of the recording you can also hear a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along with the music also being heavily rooted in the 90's era. All of the musical instruments also have a very powerful sound to them as well as the riffs also adding in a decent amount of melody. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover darkness and occultism themes.
In my opinion Winterstorm are a very great sounding raw and old school black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out their side of the split. RECOMMNDED TRACK "A traves de la Neblina Astral".
Next up is Demonic War a band that plays a very raw form of black metal.
Their side of the split starts out with a very fast and raw sound which also uses a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats. Dark sounding melodies are also added into some of the guitar riffing while the vocals are mostly high pitched black metal screams and the songs also add in a lot of 90's influences.
Clean playing and nature sounds can also be heard briefly along with the guitar solos and leads also being done in a melodic style when they are utilized on both songs. The production sounds very dark, raw and old school while the lyrics are written in Spanish and cover dark themes.
In my opinion Demonic War are a very great sounding raw and old school black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out their side of the split. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Empty Shelter".
In conclusion I feel this is a very great sounding split and would recommend it to all fans of old school, raw, satanic and vampiric black metal. 8 out of 10.
