Impiety/Versus All Gods/Evil Dead Productions/Shivadarshana/2020 Full length Review

Singapore's  Impiety  have  returned  with  a  new  recording  which  continues  their  mixture  of  black,  death  and  thrash  metal  from  their  previous  releases  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2020  album  "Versus  All  Gods"  which  will  be  released  on  January  20th  as  a  joint  between  Evil  Dead  Productions  and  Shivadarshana.

A    very  epic  sounding  synth  orientated  intro  starts  off  the  album  before  going  into a  heavier  direction.  Brutal  blast  beats  can  also  be  heard  during  the  faster  sections  of  the  recording  while  the  vocals  are  mostly  blackened  metal  screams  and  the  music  also  adds  in  a  decent  amount  of  war  and  death  emtal  elements.

A  lot  of  the  music  is  very  heavily  rooted  in  the  90's  era  while  the  solos  and  leads  are  also  done  in  a  very  chaotic  yet  old  school  style.  Dark  sounding  melodies  can  also  be  heard  in  some  of  the  guitar  riffing  as  well  as  the  songs  also  adding  in  a  decent  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts

Influences  of  thrash  metal  can  also  be  heard  quite  a  bit  throughout  the  recording  along  with  the  tremolo  picking  also  giving  the  songs  more  of  a  raw  feeling  when  it  is  utilized  and  as  the  album  progresses  another  synth  interlude  can  be  heard  before  returning  back  to  a  heavier  direction,  operatic  female  singing  can  also  be  heard  briefly.  The  production  sounds  very  raw  and  heavy  while  the  lyrics  cover  Occultism,  Demonology,  Satanism,  War  and  Violence  themes.

In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Impiety  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  band,  you  should  enjoy  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Reigning  Armageddon"  "Azazel"  "Terror  Occult  Dominion"  and  "Magickal  Wrath".  8  out  of  10.

Impiety/The Impious Crusade/Hell Headbangers/2013 EP Review

Impiety  are  a  band  from  Singapore  that  has  been  featured  before  in  this  zine  with  a  musical  style  on  this  recording  I  would  describe  as  being  black/war/thrash  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2013  ep  "The  Impious  Crusade"  which  was  released  by  Hell  Headbangers.

"Prelude)Arrival  Of  The  Assassins"  starts  off  with  some  evil  guitar  riffing  which  leads  to  drums  and  heavy  guitar  riffs  which  in  return  leads  to  a  powerful  guitar  solo  before  going  back  into  the  rhythm's  which  sets  up  the  pace  for  the  blackened  death  metal  growls  also  also  keeping  the  solo's.

"Commanding  Death  And  Destroy"  starts  off  with  heavy  war  metal  guitar  riffs  which  leads  to  the  screams  before  going  into  a  faster  direction  and  after  awhile  death  metal  guitar  solos  make  their  presence  known  in  the  song  before  heading  back  into  the  rhythm's  which  start  mixing  in  more  old  school  death  influences  while  also  keeping  the  solos  around  and  as  the  song  moves  on  their  are  more  mid  paced  sections.

"Accelerate  The  Annihilation"  starts  off  with  some  death  metal  riffing  before  the  drums  and  screams  kick  in  which  leads  to  a  faster  direction  with  blast  beats  and  also  switching  back  and  forth  between  mid  paced  and  fast  sections  and  after  awhile  guitar  solos  make  their  way  into  the  song.

"The  Impious  Crusade"  starts  off  with  fast  and  heavy  guitar  playing  and  screams  before  going  into  a  faster  direction  and  mixing  in  some  brutal  sounding  blast  beats    and  as  the  song  moves  on  the  riffs  get  more  diverse  and  also  mix  in  brief  guitar  leads  while  remaining  heavy  and  brutal  as  well  as  mixing  in  some  death  metal  style  mid  paced  sections.

"Lucifer's  Legion"  starts  off  with  noise  and  evil  screams  before  going  into  a  fast  black.thrash  metal  direction  with  the  guitars  and  blast  beats  which  also  mix  in  death  metal  elements  in  the  rhythms  and  leads.

"Super  Trooper"  starts  off  with  Asian  style  clean  singing  female  vocals  before  adding  in  bass,  drums  and  synths  while  also  retaining  the  vocals  and  I  think  this  song  must  off  only  been  put  on  the  album  for  comic  relief  considering  the  band's  history,  albums  as  well  as  the  rest  off  the  songs  that  are  present  on  the  recording.

Lyrics  on  the  recording  cover  war  and  Luciferian  themes,  while  the  production  has  a  very  heavy,  raw  and  primitive  sound  with  the  bass  playing  being  mixed  down  low  in  the  mix.

In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  recording  recording  from  Impiety  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out t his  ep.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Commanding  Death  And  Destroy"  and  "Lucifer's  Legion". RECOMMENDED  BUY.

Impiety/Ravage And Conquer/Pulverised Records/2012 CD Review

Impiety are a band from Singapore that has had one of their previous recordings reviewed in this zine a year back that plays a style that mixes the most brutal and blasphemous elements of war, black, death and thrash metal together and this is a review of their 2012 album "Ravage And Conquer" which will be released by Pulverised Records on 4/2/12.

Drums range from mid paced to fast drumming with a great amount of brutal sounding blast beats being thrown into the music, while the bass playing has a very dark tone with riffs that follow the riffing that is coming out of the guitars.

Rhythm guitars range from mid paced to fast riffs that combine the most brutal elements of war, black, death and thrash metal together while the lead guitars are very chaotic sounding black/death metal guitar solos and leads that have an early 90's underground metal feeling to them.

Vocals are a mixture of high pitched black metal screams and early 90's style black/death metal growls, while the lyrics cover satanic, anti christian and war themes, as for the production it has a very strong, powerful and heavy sound to it.

In my opinion this is another great album from Impiety and if you are a fan of this band, you will enjoy this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Weaponized" "War Crowned" and "Salve The Goat". RECOMMENDED BUY.

Impiety/Advent Of.../Pulverised Records/2011 CD Review

Impiety are a band from Singapore with a couple of members from Italy that plays a style that mixes the most fast and brutal elements of war/black/death/thrash metal together and this is a review of their 2011 Ep "Advent Off..." which was released by Pulverised Records.

Drums are mid paced to fast drumming with a lot of brutal blast beats, while the bass playing has a very dark tone which is mixed down low in the mix and seems to follow the riffing that is coming out of the guitars.

Rhythm guitars are a mixture of mid paced to fast riffs that combine war/black/death and thrash metal together, while the lead guitars are very chaotic sounding guitar solos that mix brutal black and death metal together.

Vocals are a mixture of deep death metal growls with a black metal edge and a brief spoken word part, while the lyrics cover Baphomet, Satanism and Black Magick Rituals, as for the production it has a very raw and heavy sound that is somewhat professional sounding.

In my opinion this is a great ep from Impiety, and if you where a fan of their previous releases, you will not be disappointed. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Ave Satanas". RECOMMENDED   BUY.
