Communion/The Communion/Hells Headbangers/2018 CD Review

  This  is  a  review  of  another  recording  from  Chile's  Communion  which  continues  the  raw  and  old  school  mixture  of  black  and  death  metal  and  the  album  will  be  released  in  2018  by  Hells  Headbangers  and  is  called  "The  Communion".

  A  very  dark  yet  heavy  sound  starts  off  the  album  along  with  some  morbid  sounding  melodies  a  few  seconds  later  which  also  gives  the  songs  more  of  a  death  metal  feeling  while  the  vocals  are  mostly  grim  black  metal  screams  along  with  the  solos  and  leads  also  sticking  to an  old  school  black/death  metal  style.

  A  great  amount  of  both  80's  and  90's  influences  can  be  heard  in  the  bands  musical  style  while  the  faster  sections  of  the  songs  also  bring  in  a  decent  amount  of  blast  beats  along  with  the  songs  also  bringing  in  a  great  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  and  as  the  album  progresses  elements  of  thrash  can  also  be  heard  in  some  of  the  riffing  and  one  track  also  brings  in  a  small  amount  of  demonic  growls.

  Communion  creates  another  recording  that  remains  true  to  their  raw  and  old  school  mixture  of  black  and  death  metal  from  previous  releases,  the  production  sounds  very  raw  and  heavy  while  the  lyrics  cover  Occultism,  Evil  and  Anti  Atheism  themes.

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Communion  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  old  school  black  and  death  metal,  you  should  check  out  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Glorify  The  Dark"  "Witching  Thrust"  and  "Bloody  Butcher".  8  out  of  10.

  Communion  are  a  band  from  Chile  that  plays  a  very  raw  and  old  school  mixture  of  black  and  death  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  album  "At  The  Announcement"  which  will  be  released  in  2018  as  a  joint  effort  between  The  Sinister  Flame  and  Hells  Headbangers.

  A  very  dark  and  heavy  sound  starts  off  the  album  before  going  into  a very  fast  and  raw  musical  direction  which  also  uses  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats  while  the  vocals  are  mostly  grim  black  metal  screams  that  also  have  a  very  first  wave  feeling  to  them  at  times.

  A  great  amount  of  old  school  South  American  death  and  black  metal  influences  can  be  heard  in  the  bands  musical  style  while  the  riffs  also  bring  in  a  great  amount  of  dark  sounding  melodies  along  with  the  solos  and  leads  being  done  in  a  very  raw  and  chaotic  fashion,  intros  can  also  be  heard  before  each  track  and  also  bring  in  a  brief  use  of  synths  and  the  songs  also  bring  in  a  great  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts.

  Communion  plays  a  musical  style  that  takes  the  rawest  and  heaviest  elements  of  old  school  South  American  black  and  death  metal  and  mixes  them  together  to  create  a  sound  of  their  own,  the  production  sounds  very  raw  and  heavy while  the  lyrics  cover  Occultism  and  Evil  themes.

  In  my  opinion  Communion  are  a  very  great  sounding  raw  and  old  school  mixture  of  black  and  death  metal  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  those  musical  genres,  you  should  check  out  this  band.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Impalement  To  Destroy"  "enthroned  Inquisition"  and  "Ultimate  ordeal".  8/5  out  of  10.
