1.Can you give us an update on what is going on with the band these days?
L.: Of course! At the moment we are working on our first full-length album, but we have some problems with recording the guitars, so we don't know when it'll be finished.
2.In the last couple of years you have put out 5 releases, how do you feel all of these releases differ from each other?
L.: Each release is on its own, we always do what we want and don't try to fit into anything!
3.A Few months back, you put out a remix ep, can you tell us a little bit more the decision behind it and also are there any plans to do any remixes in the future?
L.: The decision to do that came totally spontaneous as a friend of mine posted on facebook something like "Send me your a capella vocal tracks and I'll do a remix" - I asked Argwohn, he replied "Well, that would be weird, let's do it!"
4.Can you go more in depth about the song lyrics that you have covered with the past musical releases and also how would you describe your progress as song writers over the years?
Argwohn: The lyrics of Tyrannei der Tristesse are just a snap shot of the emotional status we had in early 2012. The feeling of being fucked up and not able to change anything. People write music and stuff to handle their problems - and that's exactly what we did in the past and what we do in the future. We are capable.
5.According to the Metal Archives page, philosophy is one of the topics you cover with your lyrics, can you tell us a little bit more about your interest in philosophy?
Argwohn: It's a good way to understand the world around you. And it helps to get different points of view. Maybe we get some answers why people suffer from life.
6.What is the meaning and inspiration behind the name 'Grauzeit?
L.: In german, "Grauzeit" is something like a synonym for "Depression" but the inspiration came up to describe the modern time, like "A grey aeon"
7.I have read that the band has yet to do any live shows, has that changed since the time of that interview?
Argwohn: Though we have a new member, we're still against any live shows at the moment. We are working
in the framework of an musician collective, so our main point is creating music, not entertaining an audience.
8.The new ep came out on Self Mutilation Services, do you feel this label has done a lot to get your music out there and heard?
L.: The collaboration was OK, but we had to do all that promotion stuff on our own, like organizing interviews and reviews.
9.On a worldwide level how has the feedback been to your music by fans of the more darker forms of metal?
L.: Well, it seems there are only two types of people: One love us totally, the other hate us.
But the ones that love us, really do that!
10.What direction do you see your music heading into on future releases?
Argwohn: There's not only one direction. We try to carry the cold and distant feelings of modern city life into our music, what gives us the opportunity to work with people from other genres/scenes. Some may say that's too experimental, but we are Grauzeit and we don't care.
11.What are some bands or musical styles that have influenced your music and also what are you listening to nowadays?
Argwohn: All influence comes from life itself, from personal experiences and so on. There's is a lot of cool music out there, but it has no effect on our songwriting. Something we all enjoy is hardcore punk, psychedelic/stoner rock and sludge metal.
12.outside of music what are some of your interests?
Argwohn: Escapism.
L.: Philosophy, Escapism, Drugs, Psychology
13.Any final words or thoughts before we wrap up this interview?
Argwohn: Smoke weed and worship Satan.
