Uada are a band from Portland, Oregon that has had an album reviewed before in this zine and plays a very raw and melodic form of black metal and this is a review of a review of their 2018 album "Cult of A Dying Sun" which will be released on May 25th by Eisenwald.
A very fast, raw and melodic sound starts off the album along with a great amount of blast beats while the solos and leads also use a great amount of melody along with most of the musical instruments having a very powerful sound to them as well as the vocals being mostly grim black metal screams.
Throughout the recording you can also hear a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts while the tremolo picking gives the songs a more raw feeling along with a great portion of the tracks being very long and epic in length and as the album progresses a small amount of death metal growls can be heard and one of the tracks is an instrumental and also introduces acoustic guitars onto the recording before returning back to a heavier direction and almost towards the end a brief use of keyboards can be heard.
Uada creates another recording that expands on the raw and melodic black metal style that established on the previous release, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover Occultism, Paganism and Nature themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Uada and if you are where a fan of their previous release, you should enjoy this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "The Purging Fire" "Blood Sand Ash" and "Mirrors". 8/5 out of 10.
