Terror are a solo project from Brazil that plays a bestial mixture of war, black and death metal and this is a review of their 2024 ep "Hymni Belli Occultum" which will b e released in December by Sentient Ruin laboratories.
Apocalyptic soundscapes start off the ep before going into a heavier direction while all of the musical instruments also have a very powerful sound to t hem, Vocals are mostly bestial growls along with the faster sections of the songs also adding in a great amount of tremolo picking, brutal blast beats and war metal elements which also gives the music more of a raw feeling.
Black metal screams can also be heard at times while the songs also add in a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts. Most of the riffing is also done on power chords and the most of ep also sticks to a more heavier, raw and brutal direction, spoken word samples are also added on the closing tracks.
Terror plays a musical style that is very heavily rooted in more of a war and bestial black/death metal direction. The production sounds very dark and r aw while the lyrics cover Occultism, Warfare, Violence and Corruption themes.
In my opinion Terror are a very great sounding bestial mixture of war, black and death metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this solo project. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Bélica Sinfonia Armagedônica" and "Péos Thanátou". 8 out of 10.
