Angle of H'Zazel are a band from an unknown area that plays a very raw, chaotic and dissonant form of occult black metal and this is a review of their 2024 ep "Thy Yoke Return" which was released by Obscure Disharmony Records.
Field recordings start off the ep before going into a very fast, raw and chaotic direction which also utilizes a great amount of tremolo picking and blast b eats. At times the music also gets very dissonant sounding while most of the tracks are also very long and epic in length and the vocals are mostly high pitched black metal screams.
A small amount of melody can also be hear d in some of the guitar riffing briefly while it is hidden beneath a very lo-fi atmosphere. Clear chants are also utilized at times along with the riffs also mixing in a very repetitive approach and on one song also go into a brief mid tempo direction before returning back to a more raw and chaotic pace.
Angel Of H'Zazel plays a style of black metal that is very fast, raw, chaotic and dissonant sounding. The production sounds very dark, raw and lo-fi while the lyrics cover Occultism, Demonology and Darkness themes.
In my opinion Angle Of H'Zazel are a very great sounding raw, chaotic and dissonant occult black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Infinite Torment Of Opposite Illumination". 8 out of 10.
