Sacrimoon are a duo form Mexico that has had music reviewed before in this zine and on this recording plays a very depressive form of black metal and this is a review of their 2023 album "I'm Gonna Miss You" which was released by Talheim Records.
Clean playing which also returns on later songs starts off the album while spoken word parts are also introduced into the music before going into a heavier direction. All of the musical instruments on the recording also have a very powerful sound to them while the vocals are mostly high pitched depressive black metal screams.
Elements of doom metal can also be heard in the slower sections of the songs while the solos and leads are also done in a very melodic style. When the music speeds up a decent amount of blast beats and tremolo picking can also be heard which also gives the recording more of a raw feeling.
A great portion of the tracks are also very long and epic in length, melodies are also added into a lot of the guitar riffing and most of the recording sticks to a mid tempo direction as well as one song also adding in a brief use of clean singing along with some songs also adding in a small amount of whispered vocals and keyboards are added on the closing track. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover depression, anxiety, agoraphobia, schizophrenia and loneliness themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Sacrimoon and if you are a fan of depressive black metal, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Y.O.U (Years of Unhappiness)" "Don't Bring Me back" and "The Unsent Letter". 8 out of 10.
